Brilliant song, PT sound a lot like like Radiohead but with more melodic tunes. I was amazed this wasn't on 3000 days compilation i think it's one of their best.

5.0 out of 5 stars great bass and smooth sound, 12 Oct. 2014

They do the job perfectly, great bass and smooth sound. The lead is one of those where one earpiece lead is longer than the other so you have to wrap that one around the neck from behind rather than in front. That can be annoying though I suppose the idea is you don't have a lead dangling in front of you

Real surprise wasn't expecting it to be this good.
This is no fun side project its now a seriously focused band with a great bunch of songs played wonderfully with warmth and high skill levels. Only track that didn't set me on fire was Binary man which was a bit workmanlike.

I guess it all comes down to the songs so check out either Feels Like Summer, Old Hands or Little Eyes which to me are the strongest on there.

Clearly they leave the monster workout for last with Garden State. This is epic in every sense of the word as they go through possibly every style known to man yet it feels like one consistent song, amazing!

All fans of BBT and XTC should make no hesitation and purchase this ASAP

This sums up all the bands I loved in the 80's like Hue and Cry and Tears for Fears yet has it's own funky pop character. Amazingly good tunes in a funk rock style that is performed brilliantly.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must buy for any owner of Zoom recorders, 10 July 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I didn't buy this at the time when I bought teh Zoom recorder as thought the sales person was just upselling. However it won't stand up unless you have either the pod stand or thing that screws onto a mic stand. Also if you are recording speech it will pop like crazy so you need the muffler. All packs into the little case (just) a must buy do not avoid this purchase it is absolutely essential.

2.0 out of 5 stars If you love this album you were probably aged 10-15, 10 July 2014
This review is from: Invisible Touch (Audio CD)
If you love this album you were probably aged 10-15. That's not patronizing but the 80's were therefore your era.
Genesis has an amazing 70's body of work which I'm afraid this album pails in comparison. I'm sure it was their commercial high point and sold by the bucket load but to me it's not genesis but merely a very good 80's pop album.

The electronic drums massively date it and it's just too poppy for my taste. "Domino" is probably the only track I do listen to and with proper drums would have been great but I struggle to say anything else is worthy of much praise or recommendation. If you bought this at the time and were 10-15 I'm sure it is a wonderful nostalgic listen but for me it's the only Genesis album I don't own and I bought Genesis and We Can't Dance which were far better.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Effort but something still missing, 26 May 2014
This review is from: Manoeuvres (Audio CD)
I was one of the people who bought this album as a teenager who had just got into ELP a bit late. It was a surprise as I hadn't heard his first solo effort.
The heavier rock guitar was not expected though works well on the opening track but side two is all ballad related and is a lovely showcase for that amazing voice.

Highlight without a doubt is You Got To Believe which Is what ELP would have sounded like moving into the eighties had they stayed together. Slave To Love is brooding and powerful lyric and my second fav.

What seems to be the problem is the rather sterile atmosphere of smooth production and session men playing perfectly and an absence of Greg's acoustic guitar style which was something that had help me cope with the bombast of ELP as I was getting into them at the time.

Greg had a sizable ego during ELP but seemed to lose it post ELP by letting people play his music and write his songs much like Rod Stewart did in the post 70's and it's a real shame as his talent and songwriting ability is enormous and would have benefited by being more to the fore on both solo albums. That said his voice is in great form and 3-4 excellent songs make this a worthy purchase for any fan or Mr Lake.
