A walk on the wild side, 7 Jun 2010
Having lived on Islay for a time and spent many happy days exploring it and the neighbouring islands of Jura and Colonsay, I was excited to read this book and thought it to be an excellent guide to all three islands. If you want to get off the beaten track and explore the many hidden gems that exist in the wilder parts of the Southern Hebrides, then this is the book for you. Above all, this books provides a comprehensive guide to walking the west coast of Jura, which is one the wildest and most beautiful stretches of coastline on the British Isles. There are no paths, but with its detailed route descriptions and maps, this book will guide you safely along what is a very spectacular route. I wish I'd had it with me the first time I went exploring on Jura and got (slightly) lost in the bog!
