A product that encourages and celebrates violence towards women is not acceptable, please remove it. That it got on to your website says something about your quality control.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good resource, 23 Jan 2005
This book is a gold mine of information for the person interested in these two WW2 warplanes.
On the one hand, there is are a number of excerpts from the pilot's actual reports about the nature of combat as well as an history of the development and deployment of these aircraft. On the other hand the book offers a wealth of black and white photographs and colour plates of the various colour schemes to aid modellers and artists alike.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent WW2 combat flight sim, 23 Jan 2005
This review is from: Pacific Fighters (PC) (Video Game)
I've "played" a few of the WW2 flight sims now, most noteably CFS2 and Warbirds 3 and Pacific fighters (particularly when combined with IL2 Forgotten Battles)is very hard to beat. The shear varity of aircraft and missions/campaigns, not to mention, the online experiences fighting against other individuals in a virtual space, makes this programme hard to beat.
I have been particularly impressed with the support for this game with Ubisoft and private individuals offering up additional missions and campaigns which give the gamer and serious simmer or WW2 aircraft buff the opportunity to get an idea of what combat was like. Also at regular intervals there have been patches which offer even greater choice of aircraft and scenarios. Up to now these patches have been free and add extra value to an already excellent simulator.
Pacific fighters is not an easy game to start with, but if it were, what scope or challenge would there be?

4.0 out of 5 stars Lovers and other Strangers. Paintings by Jack Vettriano., 4 July 2004
I would have liked to give this beautiful book 5 stars as the quality of the art was exactly as I would have expected of Jack Vettriano, it looses a star because of the layout of the gallery section of the book where a number of the paintings are layed out across the centre crease. I would rather have a smaller reproduction on one side of paper than a larger reproduction part of whose detail is lost in the book's crease.
But don't let my critism put you off this book, there are a lot of painting reproduced on a single side and therefore have not spoilt by the book's formatting.
