A brutally compelling history., 28 Aug 2012
Found this book hard to put down. A hugely informative history of a savagely brutal time and place in American history laced with rivetting tales of the promiscuous violence inflicted by all parties, white and Indian, involved. The movies just don't begin to tell the story! A deep sense of sadness at the death of a stoneage culture as the book concludes. Must read for all students of American history.
