4.0 out of 5 stars Loved it!!!, 28 May 2012

Great sequel to the first installment. (WARNING! SOME SPOILERS ALERT!)I loved this book. It felt urgent and desperate as the now 6 remaining teens have lost two of their number. The fact that they cause more damage and break into the hospital where Connie is, was great. This book left me really straining to read the next book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great start, bad finish., 28 May 2012

I loved the first two books. They threw me into their world and didnt let me go until I finished the books. The world got a harder place for the teens to live in and decided to try their luck in a different place. But the books dont feel finished after this book, the reason i think this is because :- (WARNING! SPOILERS ALERT!)

1) What the hell happened to Connie???? Never explained if she woke up or got killed, or died. Nothing! Maybe they should have tried to rescue her, if she was better.

2) We got saved an now do nothing. There easily could have been another book after this one. Instead the author decided to just finish is as quick as possible. The teens get saved after Robyn is commist suicide to save the rest, but i dont feel like that was the only solution. I know some must die for the reader to feel like it is a dangerous place, but to just kill herof like that? Hello, she could have thrown the grenade away from her.

3) This book didnt feel as urgent as the other two. Maybe Marsden didnt know what to make of the characters, he knew how he wanted it finished but didnt know how to get there.

Over all the book was great but the ending didnt tie up everything. Resulting in me feeling fustrated. This was the first time i said i hope they change the ending for the film, jsut so it feels finished.

2.0 out of 5 stars Very dissappointed., 28 May 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Once again I am disappointed with the ending of a book. What's the matter with these people? It's like they got bored of writting their own book! Such a great series but the ending of MockingJay has left me feeling restless. The first two parts of the book were ok, and thats all i can say. This is because i believe that Katniss is portrayed as a weakling, which she isnt portrayed like in the first two books, shes ALWAYS recovering from something, or she does not know what to do or what direction to take. The reasons that the last part of the book was annoying is as so:- (WARNING! SPOILERS ALERT!)

1) Dying characters. The fact that the author went to all that trouble to develop a character then to just kill him off in a couple sentences, well annoyed me alot. We all understand that the author is trying to portray the fact that no one is safe, anyone could die, well except Katniss as it's written in first person, but to just kill off characters for just the sake of it, is well, annoying. Finnick deserved a better a proper death scene!!

2) Love Triangle? The attempt at a love triangle fails completely, maybe there should not have been one in the first place, it does not really add to the book. The fact that Gale goes of into sector two with some big job, but doesn't talk to Katniss anymore? The girl he's in love with? Epic fail!! More should have been said. Katniss surley deserves a better bye than him just leaving.

3) The parachute bombs. Ok, so I understand the idea of the bombs, but the fact that 13 go along with it? And no one else questions it? No i dont think so.

4) Oh look she's passed out again! The fact that Katniss is knocked out AGAIN is really a bore by now. She wakes up what a week or so after 13 won the war. Katniss was so determined, maybe it would have been better to let her get into the mansion and capture Snow. Its like the author didnt know what to write for that part so she skipped it entirly.

5) The trial. So your telling me that noone bothered to ask her why she shot Coin? And left Katniss locked up for weeks on end? I dont think so. Its feels like Collins didnt really know what to write so she just slapped it in. With explanation and no expectation of what the characters were like.

6) Im sorry but the epilogue was really a dissapointment. It didnt answer anything, it was like Colliins forgot to put in the main part of the book that Katniss loved Peeta so she had to add in the 20 years later. Another epic fail.

Just because of the ending i gace this book 3 stars. Like i said the first part of the book was ok, to much of Katniss passing out everywhere and to much whinning. But its acceptable. This is only the second time i've said this but i hope the writters of the film will make it better and change it because the way it stands i think many will be disapponted with the ending of the film as with the book.

I decided to readf this book after watching the film. After thinking the film would be a low budget, just pass the time by watching, film, i decided it was brilliant and was hooked. The book is, as always, much better than the film and the characters all had there own places in my head. A friend said this was a brilliant book and he was right. I read this page turner in two days and two days later i had read the second. I am now awaiting for the third and also will be waiting for the film as i do like to see what the directors take on books will be. Excited is not the word to use, for how i feel :D

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE THESE BOOKS!!!, 5 Mar. 2012

I absolutley loved this series of books. I do believe that there should be a age limit on these books as some scenes are VERY explict. Being a fan of the show i thought i'd read the books because generally books are better. And i wasn't dissappointed. I prefere the books and i have read them very quickly 10 1/2 books in 12 days and i still did other stuff :) The characters are fab (much better than the series) and i think if you like the series you will like the books and vice verse. Enjoy.

I read these books so quickly that Twilight was all i could think about. This one though i loved it annoyed me a bit. Im not going to spoil it for anyone but when a person leaves i actually cried. Also i felt touched when that person came back, finally.

I love these books something to get stuck into and forget the world.

5.0 out of 5 stars EXCELLENT!!!, 2 Jan. 2012

WOW!! I absolutely love these books. I think that they are a great modern romance. With twists and turns and little bits to make you laugh. These books were actually written for women not girls so it actually annoys me when people say these books are for kids. The characters are believable even though some get on your nerves. A great read.
