5.0 out of 5 stars De verecundia, 23 Jun 2010
I have only just read book one, but one thing seems to be certain. Caesar was not tortured by false modesty.
Very nice edition in a very nice series from Oxford Classics.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth the extra., 7 Mar 2010
I was rather dubious about paying such a high price for what appeared to be largely a reprint of what I already had. But my fears were unjustified. The book is comprehensive and gives such a variety of forces that I look forward to many happy hours inventing my next fiendish combination of kraut krushers.

5.0 out of 5 stars A joy to listen to., 1 Oct 2009
Vivaldi is sometimes criticised as easy listening. If by that one means lively, varied, imaginative and intelligent music with the pretentious pomposity taken out then they could be right. This one is a joy to listen to.

5.0 out of 5 stars Grisling Griselda, 31 July 2009
This review is from: Vivaldi: Griselda (Audio CD)
Beautifully sung. Beautifully played. Charming music. One word of warning though; Griselda is not a happy lady and her prinicipal arias are laments.
