Price: £11.51

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful book!, 14 Nov 2011
A wonderful, glossy and informative book. More than just a cookbook, a great gift for the skilled and less-skilled chefs out there as it makes for a good read regardless of prior ability.

Was prompted to buy this after watching the film and finding that I was humming the songs days later. Infectious! Easy to sing along to with all the lyrics printed out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Smart, stylish, so very portable!, 4 Jan 2011
I bought this device for my wife who is a stickler for travelling light. Despite being a bit of a technophobe and hating instruction manuals, she loves this product and has found it ideal for train journeys. She particularly likes the wide range of free titles (well over 4000), including many 'classic' titles. I am staggered by the ease of use, incredibly speedy downloads and storage capacity, and the battery life is heroic. Good green credentials too! The Kindle Store is also very user-friendly. I guess it's just a matter of time before I buy one for myself. If only there was a way of transferring our pre-existing print-books onto the Kindle - we've already payed for the book, I wonder if there could be a mechanism for retrospectively claiming an e-version?
Of course, there are occasions where it's just better to have a nice print-book in your hands - encyclopediae and large-format reference works with lots of colour pictures are obvious examples.

Edition: Paperback

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautifully packaged!, 20 April 2010
Bought this book as a gift for my father but had a sneak peek through when it arrived - will be buying myself a copy next! This is a lavish book chock-full of fascinating details and elegant colour pictures. The depth of material here fleshes out this imaginary world a great deal. For me, this film was far from perfect but this book allows the writers to fill in the blanks, as it were. Kind of like extensive appendices to a book, but this is no criticism! Recommended particularly for fans of the story behind the film, for those who would learn more about the universe in which this story is set.
