4.0 out of 5 stars A different side to the jazz coin, 24 Dec 2003
This review is from: Twentysomething (Audio CD)
I didn't set out to buy this album, based on some of the reviews that i had read. But as the old saying goes (In the light that this is some what ironic) you can't believe all that you read. and i with the fear of getting it choped off, i'm going to stick my head on the line and say it is slightly better put together, presented and even sang then Nora jones. Many may think that its the same old songs you can find in a million and one greatest jazz hits, but this album excels in both content and style, with fresh silky smooth tracks like 'all at sea' and time tested classics like 'i get a kick out of you', he blends the best of old and new, and comes up with something you'll keep playing. Its very refreshing to hear songs that have previously been seen as naff being re-introducted to a younger generation. definatly as refreshing as soweto kinch - though it may not be as bold, a great album to have in your collection.

4.0 out of 5 stars A hot chilled out album, 13 Oct 2003

This is not your typical rap album in the sense that americanisation of the whole of the rap world, pin points the world rap to bling bling and guns, Ty's first album brings fresh air into the rap world with a whitty and insightful look at his life past and present, and an often emotional view of Urban life, but unlike other UK artist he uses a different but no less effective style, to paint his lyrical masterpeices, "Ghetto Perspective" is probably one on the best UK rap songs that i've ever heard. a great album... bring on the second installment.
