5.0 out of 5 stars Terrific, 25 Jun 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Huge smiles from my 6 and 10 year olds when this arrived. A great big box, that'll come in handy for other 'girly' Lego and enough of the colourful plastic stuff to make a whole heap of models and have lots of fun. Thoroughly recommended for a wide age range of children.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great idea, great product, 23 Jun 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
A strimmer with a base attachment that turns it into a lightweight mower.

This works very well indeed, is well put together and I loved the flexibility of using it as a mower. The battery life means and single strimming string means that this is only really useful for small gardens, but in that environment it's an easy to use and very lightweight joy.

4.0 out of 5 stars Clear perspective on familiar ground, 22 May 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
A good, useful and concise summary of some classic Life Coaching techniques, allowing the user to think about the life they want and taking them through the steps required to achieve this. The hero quest stuff included - 'Guardian of the Threshold' anyone - detracted for me, but might strike a chord with others. Overall, very good.

5.0 out of 5 stars Strong and true, 21 May 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
A great little device for small nailing jobs. So far, this has been invaluable, requiring no additional hammering on the work I've done. For bigger jobs, something air powered might be more suitable, but for the price and size, this does most jobs perfectly adequately.

4.0 out of 5 stars Breath of fresh air, 21 May 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Great idea well executed. When tackling a business challenge in a new or existing field, it's often tempting to break out the strategy tools - Five Forces, SWOT and so on. Tobin instead reminds the reader that far more important than ivory towered analysis is the personal impact you can bring to achieving your goals. Illustrated throughout with pertinent personal examples, Tobin's message is to know your business, live and breathe its issues and go for it as if your life depends on it. I found it powerful, persuasive and easy to read. Albeit I won't be abandoning my strategy tools any time soon!

3.0 out of 5 stars A useful mish-mash, 16 May 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Rather like Kelsey's other book in this series 'What's Stopping You', this reads as partly a personal journey, with the author going out of his way to show that whatever faults and failings we, the reader might have, he has or has had them too. Then it's down to the more serious business of, effectively, summarising best practise in terms of managing time, people, resources, distractions and so forth. Summarising others' ideas always feels a bit less convincing at one remove and Kelsey does a useful service here, but saying things like 'using a decision tree may help' isn't perhaps quite as powerful and convincing as 'Here's this great tool. Try it. Now!'. Still, I enjoyed the read and it's good to think about one's own self-sabotaging tactics and some potential solutions.

11+ Maths Study Book and Parents' Guide for the CEM Test
11+ Maths Study Book and Parents' Guide for the CEM Test
by CGP Books
Edition: Paperback
Price: £7.96

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb prep, 22 April 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
The CEM 11+ test is gaining ground over the traditional GL test. The GL is felt to favour students who cram and prepare beforehand, whilst the CEM is supposedly 'unprepareable'. This book does a very good job of preparing candidates for the style, variety and difficult of question they will face however and is very clear, comprehensive and helpful. Invaluable for CEM students - and possibly for others too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Page turning scientific coming of age - what's not to like?, 22 April 2014
This review is from: The Wells Bequest (Paperback)
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
A big hit at bedtime, this was despatched very quickly by my 10 year old - followed by demands for other Polly Shulman novels. A great time travel/coming of age family tale and one both my daughter and I thoroughly recommend.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great cover, name and idea, book so so, 22 April 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
I really wanted to like this - the guy has recovered from a truly dreadful catalogue of cancer-dominated setbacks and illnesses. It's a very inspiring story, but ultimately I didn't find it helped me. Reading Albert's decision that there's no such thing as pain is interesting but ultimately not convincing. Maybe it's just me. As a cancer-surviving story it's great and it does inspire. But it's less successful as a self-help manual, in particular as the author keeps inserting himself into each homily.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great melodramatic adventure, 10 April 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
My 10 year old literally couldn't put this down - and was unusually tired the day after she took this up to read at bedtime.

Recently orphaned (aren't they all!) Clemency embarks on an adventure while trying to connect with relatives who might take her in - shades of Lemony Snicket, Secret Garden, Eva Ibbotson et al. And this proves a great recipe - the story is fun, well paced, has plenty of appropriate peril, twists and turns and is highly entertaining.
