5.0 out of 5 stars Ultra romantic, 30 Jan. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Beautifully played, transparent interpretation of some very fleeting but ultra romantic works. Volume 1 has the earlier works in increasing opus number - which continue to volume 2, which I also have, the two CDs need to be purchased together in my opinion

Beautifully played, transparent interpretation of some very fleeting and ethereal works (the further up the opus numbers, the more ethereal they get). I have volume 1 too these two CDs need to be purchased together in my opinion

5.0 out of 5 stars Stunning, 27 Jan. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
These are some of Mozart's best known symphonies and so many recordings and interpretations of them available. So it's a huge task to enter the market with yet another set and pull it off by sounding fresh. This is exactly what Sir Charles did with this set and I am very happy I bought it. Sheer joy to listen to.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice treats, 26 Jan. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
My cat is a big fan of these, and they look healthier than some of the other dry treats. As soon as I rip open a fresh bag, he runs over - recognises the sound of the packaging even before he has smelled anything! He likes both the duck and the chicken varieties

They don't last very long. I will need to try the more expensive Duracell ones next time

4.0 out of 5 stars I'm a fan, 24 Jan. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Despite its flaws, I'm a big fan of these two movies. Night watch is by far superior both in the plot and the fresher feel to it. Day watch looks and sounds more stylish but as a result loses some of its edge, however they're inseparable and they need to be watched together in my opinion.

I think it's well worth having these on bluray. First time I watched them it was on separately initial release DVDs and the overall quality seems lifted on bluray.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sumptuous, 24 Jan. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
There is some exquisite music interwoven in this very conversational opera, I only really discovered this fact after watching this production on DVD. I had not been a fan of Intermezzo mainly because it can come across as a series of very shouty scenes, and given that the soprano lead is on stage the majority of the time, it can get tiresome. However, with this production there is so much charm and great acting and beautifully sung, the shouty sections become few and far between in what I can really see now as a very clever, well structured and beautifully composed opera. Despite its "domestic setting" it can be every bit as thrilling and charming as Rosenkavalier. Felicity Lott has surely made this role her own, I can't imagine this production being bettered in a long time, and despite the age of video and audio on this DVD it's a superb one to own in your collection. If you're a Richard Strauss opera fan, you need to buy this!

3.0 out of 5 stars Outrageous in a good way, 19 Jan. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Sharknado [Blu-ray] (Blu-ray)
You got to hand it to them, for outlandish plot and hammy acting, once you start you got to watch the unfolding shark attack for the increasing outrageousness. I'd like to think the producers knew what they were doing, and did it anyway. Fair play

The sound quality is atrocious by the way, we had to turn up the volume and kept having to turn it up to be able hear the dialogue. I'm not sure what the point was of putting it on bluray, since the picture quality doesn't gain anything by being on HD medium.

5.0 out of 5 stars An absolute treat, 15 Jan. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This revival of the original production is difficult to beat. What more could you want, the composer himself conducting, the original producer there too. Superb picture and sound from this bluray. In between the acts, the baritone Thomas Hampson (turned presenter here) interviews the cast, and also Peter Sellars and John Adams to get their take on characters music and the origins of this remarkable work. Normally I'd cringe at these kinds of in between act chit chats but everyone is so genuinely having a great time and so enthusiastic about the opera, I actually enjoyed the intervals discussions too.

4.0 out of 5 stars It's ok for the price, 9 Jan. 2016
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
It's not expensive so as a handy quick guide for looking up at interesting heavenly objects, this is quite a good guide. However the information and the cursory listing for each month is nothing special and can also be found by going to the BBC sky at night or other similar sources' websites and get the info for free. If you have a smartphone or tablet there are plenty of free apps that you can point and find objects in real time (I use goSkyWatch app on iPad)
