Can't wait for the sequel!, 30 Dec 2011
A cracking 'whodunit' that grabs your attention right from the start and smacks you right between the eyes! I was compelled to carry on reading to find out what really happened to Steph Ryder. Throughout the murder investigation, we are introduced to DS Allie Shenton who gets a little too close for comfort to the victim's husband. The characterisation is spot on - you get the good, the bad and the ugly all set in the back drop of the author's home town Stoke.
Without giving too much away, there is a great hook at the end of the book which leaves you wanting to find out more about DS Shenton - it cries out for a sequel. An amazing, thrilling debut by a new and talented writer whose books I could see quite happily sharing a shelf with the likes of those by Martina Cole and Lynda La Plante. Don't delay - buy it now!
