This review is from: As Daylight Dies (Audio CD)
I first got into killswitch with their last release 'The End Of Heartache' when i heard 'Rose Of Sharyn' buying the album on impulse! Since then i have not looked back, buying 'Alive Or Just Breathing' and discovering what an amazing band KsE are, and that hasn't changed with the latest cd 'As Daylight Dies'. The sound is of a darker heavier killswitch and with tracks like 'Daylight Dies', 'For You' and the mindnumbingly good single 'My Curse' really show you what killswitch are made of, brilliant guitar work, beautiful melodies and of course.. a load of screaming! :-D

album of the year... i think so.

Anthem (We Are The Fire)
Anthem (We Are The Fire)

5.0 out of 5 stars The anthem!, 3 Oct 2006
When i first heard this song, i wasn't so sure whether i liked it that much, but after hearing it a few times i just absolutely love it! a real grower. The new direction sounds really great, and if the two extra tracks you get on this (even though they are not on the album) are anything to go by, the new album is gonna be FANTASTIC!!!! :-D

I must admit before i heard the track 'Concrete Jungle' off this release i was by no means a black label society fan. But after hearing that i got my mate to play me the album, and i loved it. Best tracks on the album are 'Black Mass Reverends' and 'Concrete Jungle', but from start to finish, an absolutelly brilliant album.

5.0 out of 5 stars Supremacy - brilliant, 4 Sep 2006
This review is from: Supremacy (Audio CD)
Hatebreed return with supremacy their follow up to 'The Rise Of Brutality' and they have started where they left off. 'Defeatist' the album opener, slowly fades in and then before you know it BAM! your plunged straight into the middle of another (soon to be)hatebreed classic! Other stand out tracks on the album include 'To The Threshold' and 'The Most Truth'. This album has to be in the top five albums i have purchased all year, you just can't go wrong with it! Well worth a listen!

5.0 out of 5 stars Come What(Ever) May, 18 Aug 2006
This review is from: Come What[Ever] May (Audio CD)
Come What(ever) May is a great album, its has everything that the first (selftitled) album had and more, and is a great step forward for the band. First single off the album '30/30-150' kicks off the album with thudding guitar riffs and from that point forward, the album doesn't let down. Other stand out tracks on the album are 'Reborn', 'Made of Scars' and 'Through Glass'- a song which i have heard many refer to as this albums bother! This album is a must for anyone who enjoyed the first album, or the latest slipknot release, but is well worth a listen what ever you are into!

5.0 out of 5 stars Rest Inside the Flames, 23 Jun 2006
This review is from: Rest Inside the Flames (Audio CD)
"I'll go until my heart stops" kicks off the album and as soon as you hear Brock screaming the opening lyrics you know are in for a treat. This is the third major label release for Alaskan metallers 36 Crazyfists and the record takes up from where the last record (a snow capped romance) left off. All of the songs on the record show a step forward for the band while still maintaining the crazyfists characteristic sound. A mixture of brocks unique voice and some awesome riffing makes this a band not to be ignored. Also includes `Elysium' with Howard Jones from Killswitch Engage on guest vocals, which is an absolutely amazing song! This is one of the best albums I have bought all year, if you are into any type of rock/metal music you should check these guys out! It will be worth it!

The Second Wave
The Second Wave
Offered by Redline Music Company
Price: £9.09

5.0 out of 5 stars Khoma, 13 April 2006
This review is from: The Second Wave (Audio CD)
The second wave kicks in with the opener 'the guillotine' an amazing, but calm opener, great song. from there till the finisher 'one of us must hang' it's nothing but pure brilliance. Songs like 'stop making speeches' and 'medea' are probably some of the best on the record. There is so much going on in this record, their use of guitars, piano, drums and of course the unique voice of Jan Jamte make this a very memorable listen, even on the 20th spin!

This album is a masterpiece, from start to finish there is not one bad track on the record. Fans of Radiohead, muse, placebo will definitely find something for them here!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Truth, pure genius, 13 Jan 2006
This review is from: The Truth (Audio CD)
I’ve been a fan of bleeding through for a while now, I have their old album ‘This Is Love, This Is Murderous’ which I loved, so as soon as the new album ‘The Truth’ came out, I bought it straight away. Straight from the start of the album you know your in for something special, as Brandon’s thundering vocals kick start the record. The thing that makes ‘The Truth’ stand out for me is the way they have been experimenting, the trademark keyboards are still here, but as the track ‘Line In The Sand’ shows that they aren’t afraid of trying something new. Standout tracks include ‘Kill To Believe’ and ‘Hollywood Prison’ which really show what Bleeding Through are capable of! This Album is amazing, and a must if you are a bleeding through fan or a metal fan in general. Pure Genius.

5.0 out of 5 stars 18 hands to rip you apart, 10 Nov 2005
This review is from: 9.0: Live (Audio CD)
A slipknot gig, a moment you live for, a truly amazing experience, and this is what has been captured here on this double disc live set. All the passion and sheer mentalness that is slipknot as they rip through classics like 'Wait and Bleed' and 'Surfacing' and some of the newer songs like 'Duality' and 'Before I Forget'. It even features a super rare track 'purity' that was only available on the very first release of slipknot's selftitled album before it was replaced by different songs, and of course, how could you forget a mind blowing drum solo from Mr Joey Jordison himself.
I would recommend this album to anyone who is into slipknot or metal/rock music at all, not until you hear them live do you really see what IS slipknot. This album features all of their best tracks taken from their 3 studio albums. A must have for any Metal collection!

Well, when i first heard of the concept of this album is didn't really know what to expect, 56 different artists from roadrunner records, all with different sounds/influences to be mixed together to make one record.
I was very interested to say the least, as trivium, slipknot, fear factory and machine head are some of my favourite bands and the 4 team captains come from these bands. (Matt k Heafy, Joey Jordison, Dino Cazarez and Robb Flynn).
The album itself a masterpeice, it has all sorts on it: some hardcore metal, black metal, hardcore, power metal, rock, and even an acoustic song! And it all works so well for the album. The songs like 'The Dagger' 'the end' and 'the blood and flames' are some of my favourites.
It's such an amazing project and i thank god that roadrunner had this great idea instead of releasing the usual old complination album of classic songs. You can really hear the contribution of all the artists playing on each song.
The dvd included also gives an interesting insight to the making of this album as it follows the four team leaders as they go about recording.
If you are into any bands on roadrunner records or just rock music in general i would check this out, as it has something for everyone, and i don't think we are going to see such an amazing poject like this for a long while.
