4.0 out of 5 stars Game Over, 17 Oct 2010
This book is a brilliant read from start to finish.

For the very astute football lover If you haven't already a tainted view of how the beautiful game has progressed during the last ten years, i.e., overpriced tickets, bombarded with 24 hour sports channels repeating the same thing every 20 minutes, ludicrous player wages, parts of stadia empty just after half time as the corporates still guzzle wine and canapés whilst the real fan sips from a polystyrene cup, etc. This will.

Big big corporate names muscling in on football. Back-handers to officials, Blatter visiting places the U.N. forces wouldn't go for votes. Women pretending to be men casting votes, big names of football's past sliding in on the gravy train.
Alas like any global corporation, in any business F.I.F.A are no different.
When Blatter's gone, no doubt he will be replaced with another 'saviour' who he's handpicked, and will still collect his F.I.F.A. pension, his expense account, and complimentary tickets to matches the ordinary fan has to pay through the nose for.

Read this book, and weep

5.0 out of 5 stars Every fan should read it, 28 Feb 2010
This indeed is a must read for ANY fan of the beautiful game. It tells it from the fans side. The passion, the pride, the misery the pain. It also shows the greed involved, lack of tickets for the real fans, lack of planning, lack of respect for the fans.
But most of all the passion of one man's love with his club.

2.0 out of 5 stars Stay with XP, 4 Feb 2007
Vista advertisement is WOW Experience, my exp with Vista since I've upgraded to it is NO NOT ANOTHER CRASH, and my pc is certainly not a low end machine. 3 GHZ Dual COre Processor, 2Gb RAM. The GUI is very attractive, but can't really see what the WOW is about.

For the most helpful, solution problem solving, and secure system that Microsoft says about Vista. I initially couldn't gain internet access as Vista's firewall was conflicting with WINDOWS Live One Care firewall !!!!

You'd think that the Big M would have at least sorted out this glitch !!!

If you are thinking of upgrading to Vista, Don't wait till they have their numerous service patchs released, and then read review after review to see if they have solved issues

5.0 out of 5 stars A Lovely piece of work, 1 May 2005
I just love this book from the authors point of view, an American doing his best to fit in with the Irish society, and with a wee bit of hassle as would be expected. It's a spots an all wiewpoint on how Ireland is, Lovely when looking at it tru rose speckled glasses, the lovely pics on the net of the Emeralrd Isle, or reading the tourist info brochures. but like the man did, if you want to know someone come live with them. a completley different bucket of vomit, and have to say from being Irish, I love the book 'cos it describes what is not on the can.
As we say in Ireland 'Fair Play to ye butty'
