Faith Shift: Finding Your Way Forward When Everything You Believe Is Coming Apart
Faith Shift: Finding Your Way Forward When Everything You Believe Is Coming Apart
Price: £7.38

5.0 out of 5 stars For those whose faith has been tried..., 25 May 2016

A faith transition can be exhausting, agonising and confusing. Kathy Escobar has experienced her own 'Faith Shift' and has listened carefully to the stories of many, many others who have been through the experience. This book distils the essence of the effects of a paradigm shift on a persons beliefs and gives much needed wisdom and guidance on how to navigate the experience safely and with integrity. I can't praise this book enough. The title of the first chapter encapsulates the relief I felt when I realised others had trodden this path before me, its called "You're not crazy and you're not alone". Faith in a system of belief can come collapse quickly like a house of cards. 'Faith Shift' shoes that when this happens, all is not lost, something new and exciting can be built from the wreckage.

5.0 out of 5 stars My kind of thoughtful Atheist., 4 May 2016

A very thoughtful and heartfelt work by a post-evangelical artist. Shaeffer's comments rang true when he states that he experiences both belief and disbelief at virtually tbe same time. This book is a welcome relief for those of us wearied by the vitriol of the more militant New Atheist writers. Overall a beautiful book grounded in Shaeffer's personal experience of faith transition and illuminated by moving vignettes of interaction with the people he loves, particularly his grandchildren, whom he so obviously adores.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent resource for improving ritual, 17 Aug. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This volume is full of first class advice for masons who are serious about improving their delivery of ritual. Rick Smith presents a comprehensive and cohesive system for committing ritual passages to memory and delivering them effectively in our ceremonies. In my opinion Rick has done the Craft a great service in bringing these techniques together.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gripping documentary..., 2 July 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Excellent views of the mountain and interesting insight into the dynamics of getting a group to the summit. Russell Brice looks uncomfortable at times with the cameras but was obviously affected by the death of one of the Sherpa's at the very start of the expedition. Well worth a watch.

4.0 out of 5 stars Really got me thinking..., 8 Dec. 2012

McLaren is a much maligned figure in fundamentalist circles but I think his is a genuine prophetic voice calling the Church to positive change. His ideas highlight the tensions inherent in trying to live life in the 21st Century according to the morality of the Bronze Age...Christ can call us to a better way...

4.0 out of 5 stars Not groundbreaking but...., 8 Dec. 2012

Tomlinson's 'How to be a bad Christian' isn't groundbreaking and it won't answer the arguments of the New Atheists but it does provide a gentle reminder of what religion stripped of dogma can offer...I really liked it !!!!!

In The Shadow Of The Moon [DVD]
In The Shadow Of The Moon [DVD]
Dvd ~ David Sington
Price: £3.99

5.0 out of 5 stars First hand testimony by the men who walked on the moon, 14 Aug. 2009
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This amazing production presents the first hand testimonies of the men of the Apollo programme who risked everything, travelled further than any other human beings have done and walked on the surface of the moon. Buzz Aldrin, Michael Collins, Alan Bean and others of this remarkable group share their amazing experiences of the preparation for the seven missions to the moon and their feelings about standing on another world. The NASA images, together with the spoken word made this amazing piece of history as fresh as ever in my memory. I know that a slew of conspiracy theorists maintain that the landings were faked but, for me, the powerful testimony of Eugene Cernan 'the truth needs no defence' at the end of this film is convincing evidence of mankind's greatest achievement.

1.0 out of 5 stars For goodness sake, get a grip!!!, 14 May 2007
This review is from: The Secret (Hardcover)
Oh please, another "secrets known only to an ancient elite..." bait for the gullable. Take a selection of famous names; rip some quotes from their orignal context and add a large dose of new age clap-trap. Mix it all together, handsomely package it and hey presto what have you got? 'The Secret'. Now go market it to all the people who actually thought the Da Vinci Code was really true and make lots of money while your readers wait in vain for the items they've ordered from the cosmic catalogue.
