An excellent read for young adults and adults alike. Along the lines of Room by Emma Donaghue, this book takes the theme on, to show us the possible effects of imprisonment, neglect and abuse. Well-written and engaging with characters to care about. Another winner by this fabulous author!

Read the book, watched the film, now can't wait to see the stage show. The book is amazing and I was glad I'd read it as the film left out important details and events. Looking forward to the stage show next year in Cardiff.

I'm going to see the play next month and needed to know more about it. Good historical detail and link to mother/daughter relationships.

One of the contributors visited our school to talk to pupils. This book is a must read to keep the memories alive and pass the history and lessons learned on to future generations.

Fantastic! Works equally well on land as in water. Sound quality excellent even when doing front crawl. Easy to use. You have to do something on itunes in order for the download to work but the customer service is excellent and they send detailed instructions by email if help is requested. Can't speak highly enough of Exeze.

Wow! What a book! Written for young adults, this book had me gripped at the age of 53! Shortlisted for the prestigious Carnegie Medal, it would be a worthy winner. We'll know on 14th June 2012! Adventure, humour, fraud, abuse of power, murder ... it's got the lot.

Great service for this product too. Arrived on time as as described.

3.0 out of 5 stars The Fever Tree, 22 Mar 2012

An excellent idea for a novel, painting a picture of life in colonial South Africa. Unfortunately it didn't really live up to its promise. The protagonist turned out to be weak, which didn't endear me to her. The book was very readable but I wasn't made to care enough about the characters or what happened to them. If you want a really 'gripping' love story then this is possibly not for you. If you want to learn more about the history of South Africa thsi may help to a limited degree. I really wanted to like this book but sadly it disappointed.

I found this hard work. The continuous 'toilet humour' was unnecessary and spoiled what should've been a gripping story. I understand that children and teenagers love this sort of humour but, come on, 'WE GET THE MESSAGE!' The plot was a good one and I liked the characters, especially Fatty (but if he wasn't fat, then why didn't the author explain how he came by his nickname?), but the quality of writing was poor and I struggled to finish the book.
