This review is from: The Very Best Of (Audio CD)
'The Very Best of Cilla Black' is a 2 disc set that has everything you could possibly wish for. The cd (disk one) comprises of her top 19 hits, including her two major successful number ones 'Anyone Who Had A Heart' and 'You're My World', the first being what made 'Our Cilla' achieve the biggest selling singer by a British female singer of that era and still today. Other hits include 'Alfie' writted by Burt Bacharach and was recently footage was shown on the recent tv programme paying tribute to Cilla entitled 'The One and Only Cilla Black'; and of course 'Step Inside Love' penned by Lennon and McCartney, which became the signature tune for the 'Cilla' show that made Cilla the first female singer to host her own show for the BBC. Other favourites include 'Sing A Rainbow' and much more. In addition the set also comprises of two amazing 'new' remixes 'Imagine' (Matt Pop Remix) and 'Faded Images'(Almighty Remix). Almight known for their remixes for Rhianna, Kylie Minogue, Cher, Diana Ross, Katy Perry, Beyonce, The Saturday's and etc; thus making this cd set having 26 songs in total. Cilla has had a huge success with so many more songs, but this album brings you the very best as promised by the title. FURTHERMORE this set also includes extremely a 2nd disk of rare b/w footage from a tv show from 1966 entitled 'Cilla At The Savoy'.

I began this review stating that this cd has everything, and I close stating that indeed this set does have it all - hits, new remixes and rare dvd footage complete with a beautiful presented booklet containing a personal message from Cilla within!!

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW - wonderfully presented and extremely classy memoir, 26 Sep 2013

Oh my, this is such a must buy book! It is so professionally presented showing huge rare stunning photographs that tells the story of the iconic Cilla Black from a successful singer to television personality and presenter. I'm finding this review hard to do, due to being so overwhelmed to it's classiness. It is a gem of an above average size book, (coffee table book), comprising of 192 pages, and jammed packed full of A4 to double page spread photographs. A fantastic tribute to a lady that is currently celebrating 50 years in show business!! . As an avid fan, It appears that I cannot be anything other than impressed with 'Back to Black: Cilla. The Authorised Photographic Memoir' - and perhaps more importantly I am confident it will be a firm favourite for other people too.

5.0 out of 5 stars 'The' set that is undoubtable the best of the best of Cilla Black, 2 May 2012
'Completely Cilla' is a fantastic 6 disc set (comprising of 5 cd's and a dvd), and truly represents the commencing of Cilla's 50th year in showbusiness (2013). The 139 golden originals aptly correlates with her golden anniversary! The set consists of a 30+ page booklet unlike no other, where Cilla recounts memories relating to her singing career; in addition there are interviews given by Cliff Richard, and numerous producers, backing singers, etc - each talking about there experience working with the singer that is the biggest selling female singer of the sixties! The booklet also contains some rare unseen photos, and equally the dvd has rare BBC footage, including a duet with Cliff Richard - and fantastically the dvd is region free! As for the 139 songs, from the 250+ songs that she has ever recorded, they represent 'The Beatles'' legendary producer Sir George Martin, who worked with Cilla between the decade, 1963 -1973. The set is a tribute to a very unique and special relationship between singer and producer, with fantastic songs, from 'You're My World', 'Anyone Who Had A Heart', 'Alfie', 'Something Tells Me' to 135 other beautiful songs that are equally fantastic. Here they all are in chronolgical order, displaying Cilla's superb vocal range that makes her the iconic lady she is today!
