5.0 out of 5 stars Mogwai, truely amazing., 31 July 2002
This review is from: Mogwai Young Team [VINYL] (Vinyl)
Mogwai are truely amazing in this album. Their tracks are incredible, beautiful. The LP starts off with "Yes, I am a long way from home" and a woman describing Mogwai as the stars. She is not wrong, if the stars did have a sound, Mogwai is who they would sound like. They are completly out of this world. Like Herod is a unique song in the way that it scares the living daylights out of you, but i wong go into it, because you have to experience it for yourself.Katerin is a great song, producing dark, minor key sounds with quiet muttering in the background, and the unique Mogwai drumming. Radar Maker is very simple but oh so effective. Like most of the songs it is a real feel good tune. You can hear the subtle use of the synth in the background and it sounds top. Tracy is a very sad song, it is quite emotional. Summer (priority version) is a great mix of soft and hard guitars. A repetative soft guitar line leads into a sudden change to hard distortion and loveleyness! With Portfolio starts of quite spookily, and becomes even more so furtur on, the strange sounds that just get louder and louder just really begin to scare you! R U still in 2 it is one of the few songs with voice parts, although not exactly singing it adds a nice scottish accent, which is always good! A cheery wave... is an odd song but sounds really good and then it draws to an end to make way for quite possibly the best song ever written, Mogwai fear satan. It is true bliss this song, it cannot be described it is just so... perfect. This is an incredible album. Well done mogwai.

5.0 out of 5 stars Purely Beautiful, 9 May 2002

What can I say? Mogwai are music genius'. The first time you listen to Mogwai, you have to listen to them with an open mind. Mogwai- you either love them or you hate them. Young team is a fantastic album. So incredibly relaxing, scary, blissful, hard, peaceful and dramatic. Yes! I am a long way from home is perfect. Amazing rushing guitar riffs, soaring high into the air. Like Herod, is beautifly relaxing and then very scary. This is the only song i have ever listend to that has made me jump out of my skin! And the godly Mogwai fear Satan. It is just... oh there are not words to describe this song. It truly makes you feel funny inside! FANBLOODYTASTIC. Mogwai are genius' I bow my head to you.

5.0 out of 5 stars a VERY bloody Return to Castle Wolfenstein, 17 Jan 2002
RTCF is fantastic. I have played many FPS's and this is definatly the best so far. After playing Max Payne, i am very pleased to see alot more levels. Each level gives you something new and challenging. There are 3 skill levels, 3 being very challenging but very rewarding. You come across several "boss's" in the game and all are very hard to get rid of. Unlike games like Half-Life you dont really need to use your head that much, you just go in shooting (apart from a few covert missions) and complete your objectives.
I highly recomend this game.
