Quality Album!, 7 Sept. 2002
So there I was, Summer '97, sat in the now defunct Wembley Stadium awaiting the arrival on stage of U2. As I was sat enjoying the crowd and weather, one of the days support acts snuck onto stage without grabbing my attention too much...then BANG! This band filled the stadium with the kind of energy and emotion that I was not expecting till the very end of the night! Audioweb were providing an amazing set of music that lifted the entire crowd and really left it's mark on me. I was stunned by the way the band played together and the amazing ever-varying vocals of Martin Merchant. So, upon returning home I promptly set about grabbing myself a copy of one of their albums. Fireworks City has got to be one of the most exciting musical discoveries I've made for myself. From the loud upbeat opening track to the sample filled finale, this album is an extremely varied landscape of sound that has been a regular in my cd player for many years now. The rocking opening of the album leads into some pure emotions, see Personal Feeling, and then continues to hit home with other stand-out tracks Sentiments For A Reason, Freefall and Control. If you enjoy well crafted music and like your tunes to really do something to you then pick up a copy. You won't be disappointed!
