5.0 out of 5 stars An Unanticipated Huge Favourite, 8 Sep 2014
We have had no less than four activity centres...fisher price jumperoo; a baby Einstein one; Leap Frog learn and groove and this Little Land. We buy used rather than new so our model would be an older model to this but very much the same design and function. Our tot is still using the Leap Frog and Little Land activity centres and he is now 13 months and in the top 97 percentile for his height. This Little Land was initially the one I felt least likely to be of interest however it is definitely joint favourite with the Learn and Groove but with the added advantages that it is incredibly compact and also the height settings go much higher. He loves all the buttons and play bits but especially he loves that he can rock in it quite vigourously.

I found that if one oval section is slotted under the sofa then this avoids the baby pulling the toy over and falling! Otherwise good toy and baby takes very much to the dancing bear.

Great toy. Great sounding strong dramatic male voice. Has been a big favourite with my one year old for four or five months now. Still loving it especially now he can get on and off it himself. He has not ridden on and propelled himself forward but maybe that will come. He likes sitting on it and also pulling it around and even leaning on the front to push it like a walker. It did not really have much a rocking motion when we had the wheels fixed that way so if you are wanting a rocker I would go for Little Tikes Rocking Horse.

This would definitely be amongst the top of any list of toys I would recommend. Son has had no end of fun with it for 6 months now and he is only just one. It has a great rocking motion. He can really go for it.

My one year old son occasionally had a go on this once he could get on and off it by himself but by far prefers his little tikes rocking horse even though that has no electrics. I feel this toy is not worth the amount of space it takes so it has gone to the charity shop.

2.0 out of 5 stars not an interpretation shared by all Christians?, 11 Aug 2014

I rather like the illustrations and the touching style of writing -particularly about Mary as a young girl. However the book takes a definite line that the relationship between Mary and Joseph was initially romantic and comes very near to suggesting that it was also a consummated marriage imagining Joseph's arm around her shoulder and Joseph touching her tummy to feel the baby. This differs from Catholics and others who of course refer to Her as the Virgin Mary. She has conceived a child by the Holy Spirit. Joseph would be rightly far too in awe. We revere him as a great Saint who accepted the commision to care for Jesus as his adopted Son and to protect and honour Mary knowing Her to be the Mother of God. I would advise seekers to consider other children's books such as Mary's Story (Sarah Jane Boss and Helen Cann) ; Mary Mother of Jesus (Mary Joslin and A Wisenfield) Just like Mary (Our Sunday Visitor?) Mary (Brian Wildsmith)

Living Gospel Equality Now - Loving in the Heart of God - A Roman Catholic Woman Priest Story
Living Gospel Equality Now - Loving in the Heart of God - A Roman Catholic Woman Priest Story
by Bridget Mary Meehan
Edition: Paperback
Price: 12.64

1.0 out of 5 stars this is not the way, 4 Aug 2014
Just commenting on the review. Bridget you are not a Catholic Priest. Catholic Priests are male. I do agree that women are often marginalized and unheard in the church. I also think many Catholic clergy are out of touch and seem to have chosen the life of a distant and leisurely gentleman intellectual rather than being a servant and friend to rich and poor alike.

Woman definitely need to carve out new pathways in the church whether as lay people or consecrated religious. Seeking to take a male role only suggests we only find power and fulfillment only in usurping manhood. God's plan is that male and female tin thrive and serve in equality and complimentarity.
