Gerald's Game
Gerald's Game

4.0 out of 5 stars Intense, 14 Jun 2013
This review is from: Gerald's Game (Kindle Edition)
Brilliant psychological thriller about a woman handcuffed to a bed after an 'accident' which leaves her husband dead.

This story is typical SK, very intense, often witty & above all a damn good read.

Jess' plight isn't helped by the emergence of four different conflicting voices in her head as she struggles for freedom in a book that keeps you turning pages long after you should be asleep.

A lot of SK's work since his accident has been described as lacklustre but for me this is one of his better books of the last twenty years.

Cracking story from the World Espionage Bureau catalogue.

Bryce Attewelle is on the run to Mexico with a body in the trunk of his car as this tale is told virtually from back to front.

Fast paced, engrossing and above all fun, I do enjoy Bill Raetz's work a lot.

Treat yourself to one of his books, you won't regret it!!!

Another cracking story by Bill Raetz that fizzes along at 100 m.p.h

Bryce Attewelle is on the trail of a bad agent in a tale that takes many twists and turns.

Anyone familiar with Mr. Raetz's work will know the 'Pulp Fiction' element well and this one is no different.

The story is full of wit & one-liners and the whole thing is a treat to read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent filler until 'Doctor Sleep', 9 Jun 2013
Before I review this book it's only fair to say I am a huge SK fan.

Joyland is a crime thriller set in an amusement park in 1973 told (flashback style) by Dev in 2013.

This story really grabs you and is typical SK (in a good way).

Just a few more weeks to wait now for Doctor Sleep, but if you are a King (or crime) fan get this book... you won't regret it.

Brilliant short story very much in the vein of 'Pulp Fiction'

Even though this book is a little of 50 pages the author does a great job building up the characters.

The story flows really well and before you know it you are at the end.

I have a few other books by this author which have just shot up my 'to-read' list and the video clip was really good too.

Superb thriller that speeds along at a fair old rate that never lets up.

This is the story of PI Joe (& his side-kick Kool Aid) that involves a billionaire murder & a mystery.

The characters are brilliant (especially Kool Aid) and the story flows really well.

This is The first book I have read by this author and it certainly won't be the last :)

From the Fire - Episode 5: Gray Rain Exodus
From the Fire - Episode 5: Gray Rain Exodus

5.0 out of 5 stars The end approaches..........., 27 May 2013

Episode V of From the Fire continues Sophie & Silas' quest in a post apocalyptic nightmare.

The first four episodes of this story have been superb and this installment does not disappoint.

The story is pieced together from Sophie's diaries which have been found in 2316 and they go into great detail about her quest to find her daughter following a nuclear holocaust.

The author has promised a sixth (and final) episode in this series and whilst I cannot wait to see how it all ends it will be such a shame that a fantastically written piece of fiction like this must reach a conclusion.

Heir of the Wolf: Malediction: 1
Heir of the Wolf: Malediction: 1
by Lisa R Dennis
Edition: Paperback
Price: £7.68

4.0 out of 5 stars Very well woven tale, 23 May 2013
An excellent werewolf story set against the backdrop of a wealthy family.

Alexia McCafferey inherits her grandmothers fortune but she also gets the curse that goes along with it, a werewolf name Gaetan who is centuries years old.

This story is very well written as the authors manage to make the characters very real and anyone who has ever had family arguments over a will would certainly be able to relate to this.

I am looking forward to book two in this series very much.....

This is the second novel I have read by this author and once again it's a riveting story.

This one tells of two orphan sisters, one of them is on the step to stardom when she is brutally murdered.

Her sister Ellen is hell bent on tracking down her killer in this tense well written tale with superb characterization.

I have previously read Night Corridor by Ms. Hovey which I enjoyed immensely and this book continues the excellent standard.

An imaginative inter-woven Sci-fi masterpiece that has a terrific story line and excellent characters.

Set in the future (or futures) this is a tale that really does draw the reader in as it is so well written.

The characters are fabulous and with so many different aspects all weaved together the flow is superb.

Anyone who enjoys Sci-fi that requires the grey cells to be tested with love this book without a doubt.
