4.0 out of 5 stars Very readable, 14 Feb. 2014

Fast paced and very readable. Chapman creates a very vivid storyline and both the characters and the plot lines are believable.
I had no idea there was a revolution in Germany, and linking that, Antarctic exploration and a modern thriller works really well.
Looking forward to seeing these characters in another book.

5.0 out of 5 stars An exciting read, 16 Oct. 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This was a fast paced and very readable book. The historical narrative and the modern storyline were well constructed and made for an exciting read.

Having a modern expert look at the final collapse of the Templars was a good creative device and the depiction of modern business culture was very realistic. Contrasting modern disasters with the fall of the Templars was a powerful device.

The descriptions of the actual arrests of Templars was believable and it was good to see a story on this topic that did not force characters into using imitations of "Shakespearean" type archaic language.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nephew loved it, 24 Jun. 2012
We've been looking for a book for our 10 year-old nephew. He loves football but not too keen on reading.
I've been searching for something he would like and found this and decided to give it a try and get him a copy. He absolutely loved it, even acting out scenes in the back garden.
Now he's taking much more of an interest in books, so we're thrilled.

It's All About The Blood: London Vampires Volume One
It's All About The Blood: London Vampires Volume One

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved this, 10 Jun. 2012
Debut vampire novel from Joe Donnachie and the first in a new series; certainly off to a good start.
London is a great setting for a vampire tale and the author wonderfully wraps the story around the city to ensure plot and setting compliment each other.
Well written with great characters and a good pace to keep you hooked until the end. More please!

4.0 out of 5 stars A great fun read, 27 Mar. 2012
This is ideal if you're looking for a traditional bed-time read type book, but it also has a contemporary feel to it with much of the story set in the modern day.
All the characters are well-written and you really feel drawn into the book quite quickly.
Also, it's not too big, so you won't be sitting there forever reading it.
Enjoyable and very good value.
