So in depth, can Bernard travel through time?, 12 Jan. 2000
Another epic from the pen of Bernard Cornwell. All the usual plots, treachery and murder are included as well as a very comprehensive knowledge of the time. I also liked the weakness of the main character, Saban. He wasn't the strongest man in the tribe and managed to win his battles with a bit of luck. The magic element that runs through the Winter King is in there and is believable and 'earthy'. Tim Piggot Smith's reading is as strong and as vibrant as ever. I can't wait to see what Bernard writes next.
