Brilliant insight on a legend!, 13 Sep 2012
Being a Liverpool fan and an admirer of Rafa, I was looking forward to this book. Being in Asia and 8 hours ahead, I got a copy on my Kindle at 8am and started on it in between work. Not a long book. However, its written with honesty and deep love for the club. There is no 'dirt' to be dished out but it provides an insight as to how meticulous his management team were in preparing for each and every game. How Hicks and Gillet lied to Rafa and in the course of it destroyed the club. It gives Rafa's first hand account on how he was unceremoniously kicked out of the club which he loves dearly without a chance of finishing the task he set out to do. Win the premiership.
I am biased as I am a big fan of the Rafalution with a serious man crush on Rafa. Despite this, the book provides a glimpsed of how detailed and difficult the manager's job is especially in a club like Liverpool. Cannot recommend this enough. Best football...(ah ok Liverpool FC centric) memoir/autobiography I have read to date.
