5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic telly, 5 May 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The picture is awesome, it's really easy to set up and connect to the internet and the 3D picture is excellent. Certainly no headaches here.

Considering 90% of what you watch will be in 2D rather than 3D, it's the original picture that is most important and it is really clear and precise. With four HDMI slots everything connected to it, be it Sky, Blu-ray or games consoles, will have the clearest picture possible.

I can't recommend this television highly enough, it really is like being at your own personal cinema.

5.0 out of 5 stars 282 pages of brilliance, 9 Sept. 2001

This review is from: Akira: Vol. 3 (Paperback)
Katsuhiro Otomo's epic continues at breakneck speed in Akira:3. This is the volume where Otomo really exceeds as an artist. Every frame is beautifully drawn and detailed which adds to the quality of the story. And what a story...
Akira was released by Tetsuo at the end of vol.2 and know the chase is on to capture him. This volume concentrates on the government and the resistance as they both search for Akira while at the same time trying to take out each other while caught in the middle of this are Kaneda, Kei, Ryu and Chiyoko.
Everything builds to a acopolyptic conclusion that will have you counting the days, minutes and seconds until the release of volume 4!...

5.0 out of 5 stars Genius; the funniest comedian I have ever heard., 13 July 2001
Bill Hicks is a name not well known in this country, but he was one of the funniest, and most thought-provoking comedians to ever ply the trade. His views on the world were too extreme for many and this probably resulted in him not making it on mainstream tv but if you are not easily offended and refuse to believe that the 'establishment' is all-knowing Bill Hicks is the man for you. I bought this video based soley on 2 minutes of his material that appeared in the Preacher comic series. It was the best thing I ever did. The man was a genius, Dennis Leary has a lot to thank him for. Bill Hicks RIP

5.0 out of 5 stars The greatest manga ever written continues!, 25 May 2001
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Akira: Vol. 2: Bk. 2 (Paperback)
Akira 2 continues the story of Kaneda, Tetsuo and the others as the mystery concerning 'Akira' deepens. Tetsuo's power is growing and it is hoped that he will be able to control Akira but who will control the increasingly erratic Tetsuo? The storyline in book 2 continues at a frentic pace. I read this book cover to cover in one sitting and then went back to it a couple of hours later. If this was a written novel it would be hailed as a classic, don't let the fact that this is a graphic novel put you off. The plot is great and the artwork complements it brilliantly. This is a classic! One small point grates slightly however. In the original series, the girl was Kay, and one of Kaneda's friends was named Kei. In this edition of book 2 the girl is now called Kei. Minor point but slightly annoying. Roll on book 3!
