Unfortunately, this case fellt to bits within a few days of normal use. The stitching has entirely come away and it looks older and more worn than the 8 year old Krusell case of similar design that it was meant to replace.

Water Resistant Swing Seat Bench Cushion for Garden Hammock in Black
Water Resistant Swing Seat Bench Cushion for Garden Hammock in Black

5.0 out of 5 stars Great replacement waterproof cushion for old B&Q swing seat, 18 Jan. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I bought this to replace the cushion on my old B&Q swing seat. It works great and fits perfectly.

The cushions are completely flat, making them a lot easier to brush clean than cushions with all sorts of creases and bumps.

The fabric is soft, but is waterproof.

There are ties where it hinges, to keep it at the back of the swing seat.

My only complaint is that often the back cushion blows forward. It would be nice if there were ties at the top of the back cushion too.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good LED controller that works well. Couple of minor flaws though., 18 Jan. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I purchased this controller to replace the controller that came with this LED strip: PowerMall Waterproof IP67 5050 5M SMD RGB 600 LEDs Double Row Tube Strips Lighting Full Kit With 44Key IR Remote + 12V 5A UK Plug Power Supply For Christmas Party Wedding.

The one supplied with the above strip was controlled via IR remote. Unfortunately, whenever I turned the volume down on my TV the lights would turn onto strobe mode, which was very annoying. This controller reviewed here works by radio, not IR, so there is no risk of your TV remote accidentally changing its mode.

It comes with a nice touch sensitive remote control where you can just select a colour by pressing on the rainbow coloured circle. You can also hold your thumb down on the circle and drag your thumb around in either direction to get some level of fine control of the colour. There is a red light that flashes in the centre of this circle that indicates that the controller is transmitting.

There are also 4 pairs of buttons: The On and Off button at the top. Brightness Up and Down. Mode Up and Down. Speed Up and Down.

When you turn the unit off and back on again, it remembers the previous colour/mode/brightness that it was using when it was powered off.

There are several modes available, you can have any colour you can select on the rainbow circle button, or bright white, or a number of strobe patterns and colour cycling modes. Pretty much anything you could want.

Fitting is straight forward. You cut off the connector, if any, from the LED strip. Strip the insulation back a few millimetres. There is a screw strip connector on the main box, which has outputs for the Red, Green, and Blue cathode connections, and a common anode connection (4 wires for the LED strip). You just connect the LED strip to these. There are also a connections for the 12V (up to 10A) positive and negative wires. If your power supply has a standard 5.5 x 2.1mm centre positive power plug on it, the unit also has a connector for this if you prefer.

The brightness control works in most modes (the exception being the modes that fade up and down in brightness).

All in all this is a good controller.

The two drawbacks I've found are that you're limited to the colours available on the rainbow dial, or white (full on with Red, Green, and Blue). You cannot adjust the Red, Green, and Blue levels individually. This becomes an issue if, for example, you want to make a warm white colour, with full Red, full Green, and the Blue turned down slightly, to simulate the light you might get from an incandescent bulb. The White mode is very white/blue - a very high colour temperature, and not really suitable for normal room lighting. You can select a sort of yellow colour on the Rainbow dial, but it is yellow, not warm white. If you change it in one direction you get something that's orange, and if you change it slightly in the other direction you get something that is too green.

The second drawback is that every now and again it flickers off and on once. This seems to happen randomly, every few minutes to every few hours. I tried a different power supply but this didn't fix it. The flicker is so fast that you barely notice it, so I wouldn't take this criticism too strongly. It doesn't bother me that much.

One tip - when you insert the batteries it sets the sensitivity of the touch sensor. Make sure you're not touching the face of the controller anywhere when you do this, or the buttons will become very insensitive. Hold the controller by the sides while you insert the batteries.

These did work to help me breath more easily, but unfortunately I found all of the sizes and style supplied very uncomfortable, which prevented me sleeping. They also have a slight disadvantage of the tape strips that I use instead, in that the thickness of the material itself also reduces the amount of air you can get through your nostrils, so a lot of the area gained is lost by the walls of the tube itself.

I can see them working well for some people, hence 3 stars.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good, solid, secure lock, but has a potential flaw and is expensive., 18 Jan. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Ivess Anti-Lift Patio Lock (Misc.)
These patio locks are rock solid. They make a very satisfying thud when they engage. The supplied screws are good too, which is something that often lets down other locks.

The advantage of these locks is that they're angled slightly downwards. This means that someone trying to lever up your patio door to remove it from the rails, will end up also pulling the door towards inwards. This potentially limits how far the door can be raised, and prevents the door being pulled outwards. This gives them an advantage over patio locks that just engage horizontally.

For this feature, you pay between 6x (currently £30) as much compared to similar locks that engage horizontally. I feel this is a bit too expensive, and would prefer this lock to be around £10 to £15. This is why it loses a star, especially given cheaper versions also have the added security of a key.

This brings me to the flaw. These locks do not have a key. Now this is both a good and bad thing. It's good because one of the biggest problems with security in general is that additional security often comes with additional hassle, and people end up not bothering to use them. I am happy to use this lock every time I open and close the patio door, as unlocking and locking this lock is as simple as pulling it and rotating it to unlock it, and rotating it to lock it again. There are no keys to find and insert or turn - which is what stopped me using my old patio lock.

However, this also means it has a big security flaw. I found that I could look under the edge of my patio door from the outside and see the bolt. I could then push the bolt out with a screwdriver (as if I'd pulled it from the inside). This makes the lock quite easy to defeat on my patio door. It may be avoidable on better patio doors that are sealed at the bottom, or perhaps by relocating the lock. On a patio lock that requires a key, you obviously can't do this as you would have to turn the key first before the bolt could disengage.

5.0 out of 5 stars A remarkable, beautiful, and solid piece of ultra secure engineering., 18 Jan. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
After a spate of burglaries in the area, where entry was gained in seconds by snapping the locks, I decided to research the best locks to get. These are them - hands down!

If you need convincing as to how quickly and easily a lock can be snapped and entry gained, just search for lock snapping you YouTube. Similarly, if you search for these locks on YouTube, you'll see them stopping locksmiths dead in their tracks in public demonstrations and competitions.

Avocet ABS locks have been around for a few years now, and have an outstanding track record.

The first thing you'll notice about these locks, is that they look beautiful. They're highly polished and feel rock solid.

They have the BSI Kitemark, however this is an old standard and doesn't really matter much these days in modern lock design.

More importantly, they have a TS007 rating. This is the real world test standard and this lock gets the highest possible rating for a Euro Cylinder (3 stars). Unfortunately, the TS007 rating does not look at key security, so you will find locks by other manufacturers that has this standard too, but they usually have normal keys that are easier to pick. Rest assured, the keys on the Avocet ABS lock are well above the security of keys on any other brand of Euro cylinder that I've seen (even very well known brands). I'll go more into the key security below.

Finally, it has the Sold Secure Diamond Standard. This is probably the most important standard when it comes to locks. This was developed by the Master Locksmiths Association to test security products, not only for the general public, but also for industry and the police. These locks get the Diamond standard, which is the highest rating.

When it comes to key security, the keys look like no other key I've seen before, with circular indentations on the side of the key rather than bumps on the top. It also has a magnet on they key, as one of the pins is magnetic. Finally, the cylinder has trap pins that trigger when the plug is rotated without holding the key pins in place (which the correct key would, but a lock pick normally wouldn't). These prevent the cylinder rotating very far and also prevent bumping (another method of entry). Together, these features make picking the lock and bumping incredibly difficult and time consuming, even for expert locksmiths and competition lock pickers.

The keys cannot be copied at local key copying shops. So if someone borrows a key for some reason (a cleaner, for example), you can be confident they can't sneakily get it copied. The keys come with a card which has a long number on it that is required to buy a copy of the key from the manufacturers. Keep these in a safe place, and write on it in permanent marker which door they're for.

The cylinders are also anti-drill.

Now lets look at the anti-snap technology. Intruders can gain entry to a house in seconds by snapping a Euro cylinder in the middle, removing the cylinder, and turning the locking mechanism in the door with a simple tool. The way most anti-snap locks work, is that they have a sacrificial bit on the end that snaps off before the cylinder itself can snap in the middle. This is one of the concepts that this cylinder uses too. As a side note, this does mean that you have to insert the cylinder into your door the right way around. There is an external side and an internal side.

However, they go several steps beyond this, which makes them, again, stand out from other brands of lock. Should the sacrificial end be snapped off, and the intruder somehow manage to get a tool onto the short stump to try and snap it again, they may, just possibly, be able to get enough grip on it to snap the lock. This is unavoidable, but this cylinder has another trick up its sleeve. It has a spring-loaded cam mechanism that triggers when the cylinder is truly snapped. This permanently locks the cylinder from the outside. The other (inside) half of the cylinder, along with the mechanism that actually unlocks your door, can't be removed, and hence the locking mechanism in the door cannot be deactivated from the outside.

However, even if the cylinder was severely damaged as described above, if you can still insert the correct key from the inside and unlock the door as normal. Allowing you to open the door and replace the lock. If only the sacrificial part has been broken off from the outside, you can still unlock the door from the outside with the correct key.

Fitting a Euro Cylinder takes 2 minutes, and can be done by anyone who can use a screwdriver. All you do is put the key in your old lock, unlock the door and open it. There is a single screw holding the cylinder in place, that is located on the side of the door about level with where you insert the key. You unscrew this and the cylinder can then just slide out. You sometimes have to turn the key slightly, as there's a bit that sticks out which can prevent removal. You can practice how far to turn the key on your new locks - it'll become obvious when you see it. Once you have removed the cylinder, you insert the key into your new cylinder and turn it slightly until the bit that sticks out is flat, and insert the new cylinder into the door, making sure you have got the side labelled EXT to towards the outside of the door. You then screw the supplied screw in from the side and you're done!

There is one tiny drawback to these locks. That is that if someone spends ages trying to get into your house and manages to snap both the sacrificial bit off the cylinder and the inner bit, thus engaging the locking cam mechanism to prevent them turning the lock, this permanently locks the lock from the outside of the house. If they do this to all of your doors, then you can't get back into your house without breaking a window or forcing the door. Bear in mind that with normal locks, the intruder would have gained entry to your house, so this is definitely the lesser of two evils. To help prevent this, I also fitted these door handles, High Security PAS 24 Door Handle - Pro Secure - 92mm / 122mm - 2* Kitemark - Gold, over the locks. These are rock solid handles and help prevent intruders levering up the door handle to grip the lock to snap them. The combination of these locks and these handles will give you the best Euro lock cylinder security consumers can buy this side of £500. Both are very easy to fit by anyone, and in total you can have the whole lot done and tidied up in just a few minutes.

5.0 out of 5 stars A truly beautiful piece of engineering!, 18 Jan. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
After a spate of burglaries in the area, where locks were snapped after prying up the bottom of the door handle, and entry was gained in seconds, I replaced my door handles with these.

The first thing you'll notice about these handles, is that they are very heavy. That's a good thing. They're absolutely rock solid. The door will break before these babies could be bent upwards to reveal the locking mechanism. The finish is beautiful and all the corners and edges are rounded. This helps cause screwdrivers to slip out from the edge when an intruder tries to lever it up.

They also have a rotary plate that covers the cylinder. This prevents the cylinder being drilled out, as any drill pressed up against it will just rotate the plate and not be able to cut into the metal.

They help prevent picking, as there is a slight gap between the plate and the cylinder. This reduces the working angles that lock picks can be inserted into the cylinder.

Finally, they have a big police approved "Secured By Design" logo on the front, which will deter thieves and encourage them to move along to the next house.

Fitting takes only a couple of minutes and can be easily done by anyone. All that is needed is a screwdriver to undo the two screws holding the existing handles in place. The old handles can then be pulled off each side of the door and the spindle removed.

These handles come with two lengths of spindle, so they can be used on all common doors. Try the long one first, and push the new handles onto each side of the door. If they don't sit flush against the door then use the shorter spindle. You then just screw the two handles together using the two long screws provided. That's it!

Note that there are two versions of these handles. This one has a screw holding the handles together at the bottom and just below the handle. The other version has the screws located at the bottom and very top. You can look at your existing handles to figure out which one you need.

I personally fitted them over Avocet ABS High Security Euro Cylinder - Anti Snap Lock - TS007 3 Star (35(INT)x35(EXT), Brass), which protruded around 14mm from the door frame. The handle has a bulge where the cylinder is to accommodate the cylinder protruding from the door. There's a few mm spare if your cylinders protrude further. But I would highly recommend this combination of cylinder and door handle, as you'll end up with a locking system that is as good as you're going to get without spending a fortune.

1.0 out of 5 stars Two batteries from different sellers report -30C and won't charge, and look different from 3 originals that work fine., 8 Oct. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Let me start by saying I deal with micro-electronics daily, so I know what I'm doing when it comes to repairing phones and swapping batteries.

Let me also say that I own 2x Nexus 5 phones (well, one is my wife's). The older one needed a new battery. So I was able to test various different combinations of phones and battery to figure out what the cause was.

I originally purchased this replacement from Glitzy Gizmos, and it took me a while to get around to installing it. The phone was left plugged in most of the time as it's used more as a desk phone. So it took me a few weeks to realise that it wasn't actually charging.

Unfortunately, it had passed the 30 days return policy from this seller, so they refused to swap it.

I then purchased the same item from another seller. But the same problem occurred.

On examining the diagnostic logs on the phone, it became clear that the battery was reporting its temperature a -30C and was too cold to charge, so the phone refused to charge it. Both replacement batteries did this. If you Google this problem there are two common causes: Either the connector is damaged (either on the phone or battery lead), or the battery is a fake. There are other causes, but they seem very rare.

To be sure the phone's connector wasn't at fault, I tried both batteries in my other Nexus 5 (both reported -30C and wouldn't charge), and tried both of the original batteries in both phones (both charged absolutely fine and reported the correct temperature).

On examining all 4 batteries closely, you can see that there are very subtle differences in the font, text size, position of logos, and the way the serial number is printed on the back.

Finally, to be absolutely sure, I ordered a battery from a source that LG confirmed stocks genuine batteries (uk-mobilestore) for the same price. This battery also works fine in both phones, and his identical font, text size, etc as the 2 original phone batteries.

So given the 3 batteries that work are all known to be genuine LG batteries, and the 2 that don't (from 2 different sellers) have tiny differences in their appearance and either both have faulty leads or faulty/missing temperature sensors, I'll lead you to draw your own conclusions.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hands down - the BEST highchair you can buy., 5 Jan. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
After having this a year I thought I'd come back and say how THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST HIGHCHAIR AVAILABLE. DO NOT HESITATE TO BUY THIS!

To justify that, I've seen countless highchairs since baby was born a year ago - friends, people from our anti-natal group, various restaurants, etc. Even the best of those is terrible compared to this highchair. Everyone that has seen it in use agrees and wishes they'd purchased one too.

So why is it better than every other highchair I've seen?

Putting baby in: It takes 2 seconds. You just sit the baby on the seat and lift up the table part. That's it. The curved table fits comfortably around baby holding baby him/her in place. This is far better than having to find soggy mouldy mildewy straps, buried deep in the damp crevices of a cushioned high chair, and fiddling with up to 5 strap clips and associated adjustments, leaving your baby uncomfortably strapped into place.

Taking baby out: It takes 2 seconds. You press a big button on a big rotating knob underneath the table (too big for a little hand to grasp and turn, but easy for an adult) and rotate it. The table falls away. You pick baby up. Done. Compare this to having to remove a clumsy tray from a clunky mechanism, finding up to 5 clips to undo, sliding straps off shoulders and tugging arms out awkwardly, etc.

Cleaning: You take the tray off and put in the dishwasher or rinse under a tap. Because it fits snugly around your baby food tends not to drop down onto the seat. But if it does, it's very quick to wipe the hard plastic seat. That's it. Done. Compare this to highchairs with rectangular slots for the baby which do not prevent food being dropped onto the seat at all, and having to dig into the horrible stinky folds and crevices, full of black mould and lumps of food, that accumulates between the cushions on cushioned highchairs, or the permanently damp absorbent materials (e.g. straps) that never dry out and just smell rotten all the time.

Folding/storage: It folds up to almost nothing. You could easily take this with you on holiday (and indeed we have because it's SO much better than any you're going to have provided). Just put it in your boot or on the back seat and throw bags on top of it. Compare this to the really bulky high chairs you typically see that would just never fit in a boot.

Adjustment: There is just one and that's ALL you need - you can slide the table/tray part back and forward a few centimetres. This allows for a 3 month old (which is when our baby started watching us eat at the table) to a 3 year old. Adjustment takes 2 seconds - press a button and slide it. Release to secure. Compare this to other highchairs where you have to fiddle with 5 different strap lengths, press hard metal spring-pins and try to align them to holes (big enough for little fingers to enter), tray heights, foot rest heights, etc, that take forever to adjust and inevitably end up uncomfortable. You just do not need these adjustments with this highchair - it works brilliantly across its age range.

Build quality: This thing is rock solid. I've tripped over it and dropped it down the stairs. I've stood on the tray once and all is fine. I've bumped gently in to other highchairs and bits have fallen off them.

Safety: There are no sharp edges and no hinges or gaps or holes with sharp edges to sever off little fingers. All of the safety mechanisms are really solid and product loud audible clicks when they engage, which fill you with confidence. They're impossible for a child to undo, yet very easy for an adult to operate. They're quick and simple to use too. Compare this to other highchairs where there are sharp metal edges, straps to get tangled/throttled in, folding mechanisms that are dangerous to little fingers, complicated mechanisms that leave you unsure if they've been adjusted properly, and can be operated by the child while sat in the seat, while being difficult and fiddly for adults to operate.

Time: Seating/unseating baby takes 2 seconds, cleaning typically involves unclipping the tray and dropping it in the dishwasher or rinsing under the tap, folding/storing takes 2 seconds. Ending a meal and cleaning takes 10 to 15 seconds in total. I would expect to spend at least 5 minutes cleaning any other high chair.

Sure - this is expensive, but it's absolutely worth every penny due to the time and stress it saves. Believe me, these two things become VERY important when you have a baby.
