I also have the previous version released of this scene (9490) but this one is far superior in the detailing of the escape pod and is much more fun to build. The jawas are also better than the stormtrooper figures included last time in my opinion. Highly recommended.

Great North Road
Great North Road
by Peter F. Hamilton
Edition: Paperback
Price: £9.98

3.0 out of 5 stars which rather ruin the enjoyment of the whole novel, 31 Dec. 2015
This review is from: Great North Road (Paperback)
This is a readable book with lots of interesting ideas. Unfortunately the central murder mystery plot, when it finally gets explained, has some fairly obvious holes, which rather ruin the enjoyment of the whole novel. As a whole, the story wouldn't have lost much by being severely edited down, and the characters don't involve enough, with the exception of the Newcastle detective, Sid Hurst.

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible writing, 24 Nov. 2013
Like others I bought this book on the basis of so many rave reviews. Maybe the story and characters are interesting, but I will never find out because I can't get past the inept writing style evidenced in the first few chapters. Works which include sentences like the following should not be published, in my opinion:

'Bast gave him a speechless, horrified look.'

'Closing the door behind himself, Bast's expression was worried.'

Unfortunately I bought this full-price on the high street. Next time I reach for a fantasy novel I will read the first few pages before purchasing. And it won't be by Patrick Rothfuss!

1.0 out of 5 stars Editing calamity, 15 Aug. 2007
This review is from: Wormwood (Paperback)
Just to add to what others have written: I find it astonishing that such a respected publishing house allows something so loosely written to go out under its imprint. The character point of view changes several times per chapter, virtually as soon as someone new enters the room. This is highly confusing to the reader, and is a very basic authorial (and editing) error.
