Great crimper, mediocre wire stripper, 29 Sept. 2010
I was slightly put off buying this crimper due to other reviews so wanted to share my experience. The tool itself is of pretty solid construction and as a crimper works very well. It's straightfoward to use. Once you have prepared the RJ45 jack and inserted the wires you just insert it into the crimper (and you can only insert it one way so its idiot-proof) and squeeze.
It falls short as a wire cutter (hence the four stars) because it's far too easy to accidentally scar the inner wires of the sheath thanks to the design, although with a bit of patience and control it is possible, otherwise a sharp knife will suffice.
Overall you're probably getting this for its crimping ability, not to act as a premium wire cutter, which it obviously isn't a trying to be. As a crimper you can't fault it.
