Not as good as their previous, but still a very good album. Rival Sons are building up a reputation as an awesome live act, and backing it up with two fine albums. This the second, lacks some of the grit of the previous 'time and pressure', but does have its moments. following in the style of the great acts from those heady days of the late 60s and early 70s like Led Zeppelin. Only time will tell how big a mark these guys will leave, but they have made a great start.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great return from Gun, 20 Feb. 2013

Largely overlooked, Gun's mix of hard rock blues and pop rock deserves more attention than it gets. These Scottish rockers return after a long abscence from making albums with a very good offering indeed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Might be better than the original, 20 Feb. 2013

With a star studded cast, this is a masterpiece from Steve Hackett. OK it is in effect a covers album, but many of the versions are actually better than the originals. And, for me, Hackett is Mr Genesis, and shows why on this brilliant album. With a selection from every Genesis album which he played on, plus a couple of tracks from his own back catalogue, and including the epic super's ready. What more could an old prog fan ask for.

5.0 out of 5 stars New supergroup show how it should be done, 20 Feb. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Snakecharmer (Audio CD)
Great CD by this new band featuring some former Whitesnake memebers. Comparisons are going to be made, and not unfairly, as this does have a more than slight hint of pre 1987 Whitesnake. But Chris Ousey's vocals are far superior to modern day Coverdale, and Micky Moody has lost none of his smoothness on guitar. Neil Murray and Harry James are about as good as it gets as a rhythm section, driving everything along in style. Add into the mix Laurie Wisefield's guitar and keyboards from Adam Wakeman, and you have a line up to drool over. The 13 track CD is made up of classic hard blues rock, with a couple of ballards and a hint of late 70s AOR, which all sound fresh and crisp. This is the kind of album blues rock fans have been crying out for, and I hope it's the first of many from this true supergroup!

Suprisingly good album from Italian symphonic metal outfit 'The LoveCrave'. Well produced and packaged, and containing an unusual version of Michael Jacksons thriller, which works well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Billy Squier - Tale of the tape/Don't say no, 30 July 2012

Don't say no is an American rock classic, without a single track not worth hearing. And it contains 'the stroke', which is probably his best known song. Add to that 'tale of the tape' which is itself a great album, and you have an excellent package of American rock.

Not Squiers greatest offering, but a steady album with some good tracks mixing steady blues and classic rock. And brought to life by that unique voice.

The first BOC album does sound a little dated these days, but is still essential for any fans of the band. American hard rock at its best.

This is a really good blues album. Nothing fancy, just good honest tracks, from one of the UKs most overlooked guitarists. Del is widely known for being in rock outfit 'Stray', but this solo outing is well worth getting hold of. And now contains bonus tracks.
