Fundamentals of the Physical Environment
Fundamentals of the Physical Environment
by Peter Smithson
Edition: Paperback

4.0 out of 5 stars A useful addition, 20 Jan. 2011
Purchased when studying for a Geography degree. This text book is informative and easy it read, it contains a wealth of information that is displayed in an easy to use layout with text that is interesting rather than some textbooks that make you want to fall asleep.

A good purchase for anyone studying the environment or geography.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really good biscuit tin, 20 Jan. 2011
Purchased and used for cheese biscuits. The barrel keeps the biscuits firm and looks good so can be brought to the table and passed round guests when enjoying cheese and biscuits.

The moisture absorbing balls in the lid are in a removable container so that you can dry them out yourself once a year to maintain the effectiveness of the biscuit barrel.

Does exactly what it is supposed to do.

ER: The Complete Eighth Season [DVD] [2007]
ER: The Complete Eighth Season [DVD] [2007]
Dvd ~ Anthony Edwards
Price: £11.99

5.0 out of 5 stars Great as always, 20 Jan. 2011
If you are an ER fan and you own or have watched the other series' then you cannot miss watching/owning the final series.

This season continues in the same fast paced character led story lines of the previous series but with flash backs and where are they now about some of the well know characters of the previous series. The final episode is not what you might expect but I think it does the series justice.

2.0 out of 5 stars Waterproof but not durable, 20 Jan. 2011
I purchased a 3 of these map cases for D of E groups to use last year. Within 3 months one of the map cases, after one outing failed where the neck strap joined map case, the whole black tab came off. This was not too much of a problem because there is another set of black tabs at the other end of the map case which were used instead.

After a couple more outings the roll top peeled away from the main body of the map case making it unusable after less than a year or moderate use. One of the other Ortlieb map cases also failed in the same manner with the roll top peeling off of the main body of the case and the final map case one of the D of E groups managed to tear it!

So in less than a year all 3 purchased, failed. I will not be buying Ortlieb map cases again. They were definitely waterproof but they were not sufficiently robust to be used by teenagers. I will be going back to cheaper models that can last longer.

3.0 out of 5 stars Could be really good, 18 Aug. 2010
Some of the functions of this watch are very good such as the ability to change the battery yourself and the watch still being water resistant afterwards, the dual time function and the sunrise and sunset functionality. I have used the compass but it is definitely no substitute for a real compass and the altimeter is usually quite far out when ever I have tried to use it.

The watch comes with a plastic holder that you can put the watch body in and wear the watch like a necklace, I have never used this as wearing the watch as a necklace has never appealed to me.

The watch is easy to use and looks good especially when compared with other ladies watches that have a similar functionality.

The main problem with this watch is that the strap breaks away from the main body easily. I have returned mine to Suunto twice with this problem on the first occasion they replaced the whole watch, on the second occasion they replaced the strap and returned the watch with a spare strap. Now the replacement strap and the spare strap have both broken (the plastic strap comes away from its metal mounting) so I have had to resort to gluing it back together on a bi-monthly basis! The face of the watch also scratches quite easily for an outdoors watch.

Overall I like the watch but it could be better.
