4.0 out of 5 stars Extremely interesting, 6 Mar 2010
Took me a while to read and does occassionaly get very detailed so not for all readers however. However, very well written and given the subject matter it is very readable. The last chapter on the 1990s was a particular highlight - as was the section on WW2 Ukraine, which was harrowing. Highly recommended

3.0 out of 5 stars Good but died after 18 months, 6 Mar 2010
I have other soundbridge products so setting up was ok, although getting BBC to work would be a pain if you hadn't done it before. Was pretty happy with it then it just died after about 18 months. As mentioned by others reviewers this is fairly common and terminal. In summary its a bit fiddly to set up but once working is a good product and most people can use it very easily. However set up is a bit of a problem. Having given a few internet radios/music streaming thingies a go (although not the squeezebox) I think they're all a bit rubbish - either fiddly set up, very poor software or rubbish sound. Think PDAs pre iphone... Maybe someone could ask Apple to make one?

5.0 out of 5 stars The Pursuit of the Millennium: Revolutionary Millenarians and Mystical Anarchists of the Middle Ages, 5 Feb 2010
Quite frankly one of the best books I have ever read. Engagingly written, fantastically researched and absolutely bonkers. A must read.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good sound, dodgy menu, 22 Dec 2009
Very impressed with the sound quality of the airstream 10. Very easy to set up and looks good. Very good internet and dab radio. However, the menu system is a bit dodgy when streaming music if you have a large music collection. It's quite hard to find the music you want as the search function is pretty ordinary - it returns too many results and will list all songs by a band without grouping them by album etc. (as my old soundbridge radio used to do). Also the screen is tiny. Finally, the dial for scrolling through the music is fidly as if you're looking for an album whose title begins with the letter "s", for example, you have to scroll all the way through your collection to get to it. It also seems to see a couple of copies of a lot of my music, this might be because I have them on my server in both FLAC and MP3 format - though I can't see a way of stopping this from happening. All in all a decent bit of kit but the software doesn't really cut it. Perhaps I'm missing something?
