So please correct me if I'm wrong... but isn't the point of a horror film to invoke that feeling of dread into its viewers? To take you on a thrill ride of goose-pimples, involuntary yelps and cushions covering faces (when it get's really bad.) Well in my view that's what a good horror should do.

However this film really can't figure out what it's trying to do, let alone if it's trying to scare you or not.

It seems like the makers set out to do something a little different from the other P.A films and they should be commended for trying, but the result is a bastardised cross between [Rec] and Chronicle but nowhere near as good as either of them.

One of the main factors that let's this film down, is it's all filmed in the day, and horror 101 will tell you that nothing scary happens in the day. But seriously... this film is not even remotely scary, creepy, freaky or anything else... it is a bit amusing in parts and there's even the od laugh but after that there's nothing here at all to get stuck into.

My advice: re-watch the first one and leave it at that.

I love superheroes and related movies and T.V shows, that's why I feel I need to speak up about this crap T.V show.

If you're expecting a show as good as MARVEL's AoS you will be sourly let down.

The acting is real bad but the main point here is that every character in it is unlikable.
All the woman characters are horrible, horrible people, just whining rich bitches who waffle on about how bad theirs lives are.

I watched about ten episodes before I stopped, stood up and declared to the world that Arrow the T.V series is one of the worst things I've seen on T.V.

Another teen-fest movie trying following on the coattails of The Hunger Games but failing completely.
The characters are shallow and unlikable, the story doesn't develop quickly enough and the film is just too damn long, 2hours 19 minutes to be exact. The lead girl really isn't that likable and she really doesn't have the skills or looks to carry this film to the end. The plot is basically that same as all the recent teen films...Mortal Instruments, Enders Game etc... Post apocalyptic coming of age film were the lead tries to figure out who they are and what their place in the world is. It's nothing new and we've seen it done before and a lot better than this. The film is slick and looks great but it's just not enough to carry it through to the end, let alone the trilogy which this film seems to be setting up. This is one of those films that charity shops will be brimming over with in a few years. PS this is a film, not a book so stop comparing the two as they're two completely different formats.

A downbeat bore.

Having gained the guitar and productions skills of the Black Keys front man Dan Auerbach, you'd think that the two of them could have come up with something a little more interesting than this bleakly-drab and unimpressive effort.

The overall sound of the album is warm, mystical and a little more guitar based then her first pop-tinged record.

Gone are the upbeat pop-candy songs about money, sex and the highlife, and they've been replaced with all downbeat songs about money, sex and the highlife. To give her credit... her lyrics have slightly improved since the last album, but to be honest I do tune out when she starts singing "I want money, power and glory..." as it seems completely out of touch for the times we're living, and really who really cares what some spoiled rich girl wants?

But still even with all her money, power and glory Lana seems unable to make a decent album of cohesive songs.
Every song on the album is of the same tempo and mood and it grows tiresome very quickly.

You'd think they would have put a few upbeat songs on there, especially since she's been playing festivals this summer, but no... It seems she is perfectly happy painting herself into a corner of a bewitching songstress whose music seems to zombifi her fans into a state of bewildering drabness.

I love these harps, I have three of them and they've performed well for years.
Just a tip to the Neil Youing fans. As far as I can tell from researching old footage, these are the same harps that Neil use's ,circa 1972, when he first started playing up until now. Is you listen to Heart of Gold then you'll hear a Marine Band Harp in G

5.0 out of 5 stars It works... Amazingly!!!, 2 Jan 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
There are many positive reviews of this product and here's one more...
I have a Samsung Syncmaster TV and a Teac amp, the only "out" on the TV was an optical out but unfortunately there was no optical "in" on the amp. So for months, in order to get any sound from the TV to the amp, I had to patch a lead from the headphone input on the TV the phono inputs on the amp. Not a great solution I can tell you.

Then I came across this product.
At first I was highly dubious that it would even work... then I plugged it in and BOOM! My sound came alive.

I really can't express enough what an amazing difference it makes to the sound. You really get those cinema-like bass rumbles when you're watching movies.

Set up is so simple. Take an optical lead from your TV, plug it into the box. In the other side of the box, plug you phono left and right, then plug the other end into your amp.
Plug the power socket it and you're away. It took less then two minutes to set up.

Great product, great price, GREAT SOUND!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not an easy listen, 28 Jan 2013

I Loved Bomb In the Birdcage so much, however I was a little underwhelmed by this offering.

The album itself is very beautiful. The songs are slow and meandering and it's obvious that a lot of thought and effort has gone into the writing and recording.

This, however, maybe the albums downfall. The songs are so tightly packed that it takes a while to unwrap and peer in.

Alison has said that this album is very personal to her, but I just can't get a handle on what she is talking about. Her voice seems hidden and not as prominent as on "Bomb".
Gone are the nice Beatles-esq pop songs and in their place we now have long, morose, songs that are hard to reach the end of.

In fact the songs are so morose and sad that the whole thing becomes really hard to listen to. You're just left wanting for a slightly upbeat, uplifting song but you wade through morose song after morose song and it becomes a bit "huhh" after a while.
Then you finally get to an upbate song "Now is the Start" and the song is so swamped with a mishmash of voices and reverb that you can't actually make out Alison.

I really, really wanted to like it but now I can't even listen to more than two songs in a row.

But maybe I'll love it in a few years time, who knows. But, now is not the start for Pines.

2.0 out of 5 stars I din't see anything, 14 Jun 2012
Was very eager hear this album, and was utterly disappointed upon first listen.
The majority of the songs are just poppy pap, the melodies are very familiar to out dated pop songs. Nothing on here even comes close to the level of writing that she displayed on Soviet Kitsch or Mary Ann and the Grave Diggers. This album has no edge to it whatsoever.
Just safe pop songs. I dislike it so much that when listening to it, I grind my teeth in disgust at what this artist could have been.

1.0 out of 5 stars The are worse films... but not many, 7 April 2011
Ben Stiller's performance in this film was not unlike the sensation of frying your own eyes in a rusty frying pan, brimming over with lard. And not even expensive lard, I mean the lard you can get for 5p in Lidl. That basically sums up the whole film really. Uhh the costume design in this film was awful; I was offended by the clothes in this film, that horrible rusty coloured body warmer he wears for the entirety of the film. What is this? Marty Mcfly... The Bipolar Years?
In short... it's just so boring, and really made me hate Stiller with a passion

4.0 out of 5 stars Actual Review of the Blu-Ray, including extras., 6 April 2011
Okay, this is a review of the blu-ray, since no one else in the universe seemed to list what was actually in the box.

Tron Legacy:

Yeah either liked the film or you bitched about it, but watching it again last night I found I was just as blown away, with the Blu-Ray, as I was seeing it in 3D at the cinema.
The sound on the Blu-Ray is just immense as is the picture.

The thing that lets the Blu-Ray down is the lack of special features.
There are some nice little things on there, but no-where near enough. No commentaries, no deleted scenes or gag reels, screen test, no music documentaries. All there is is a few featurettes regarding casting, the legacy of Tron and the look of Tron. The only saving grace is a ten minute minisode called "The Next Day" which is set... the day after Tron Lagacy finishes.
But after enjoying the film so much, I kinda want more.

Tron.

The Blu-Ray transfer of the original Tron is just stunning, and they really did a great job on it. There's also some nice extras which don't appear on the two-disc special edition DVD.

So all in all it's a great product, I only wish people would embrace Blu-Ray and make the most of the format buy filling it chock-full of bits n' pieces, just like they did on the Scott Pilgrim Blu-Ray. Also it would have been nice if each of the films had separate slip-covers, but these are just minor gripes.
