3.0 out of 5 stars Not off to a good start, 4 Aug. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I received this today and while I have yet to try it out on a trip so far I've not been impressed. The 760 was delivered quickly but there are no instructions whatsoever with it. No information on the fact that with the new map download (and software update) I have only 3% of my storage left and I have a warning that says I need a micro SD card. There is no information on what card or size is supported and it assumes everyone has a computer to download the manual. This unit is called the "Garmin Camper 760LMT-D" and is specifically geared for camper vans. In case Garmin don't know MOST OF THE CAMPER VAN SITES BOOKS LIST LOCATIONS BY LAT/LONG AND THERE IS NO SINGLE FORMAT FOR ALL. Before buying this unit I asked on here about the acceptance of Lat/long co-ordinates and sure enough you can however the function is hidden away in "categories" of all places. When I eventually find it I note that you have to select a format before you can enter them. If you have another location that is given in a different format you have to go through the change process all over again. This is very poor programming and however with a little change it could be very good - just check out the Snooper to see how it should be done. I will add to this review after I have tried it out

The Concrete Blonde (Harry Bosch Book 3)
The Concrete Blonde (Harry Bosch Book 3)
Price: £5.99

5.0 out of 5 stars Cracking good read, 4 Aug. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is the third Harry Bosch book and carries on from more or less where the book two finishes however relates to a case that occurred before the series began. There are more suspects than days in the week and certainly enough to keep you glued to the pages. Well worth a read and I will continue on to book four

5.0 out of 5 stars A new hero to get behind and support, 2 July 2015

I was looking for a good crime novel - not too complicated like many of the new generation and this fits the bill. Bosch is a "normal" cop that has fallen foul of his bosses and everything he does is under a microscope. When a body is found that links to his past Bosch takes it personally and just has to get the job done - even when his new found love doesn't even trust him. A great read that is hard to put down with several twists and turns before the real crooks are identified - with unexpected consequences - you will love this book

Swamp Bones: A Temperance Brennan Short Story

4.0 out of 5 stars Typical Kathy Reichs - a good read, 2 July 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I'm a great fan of Kathy Reichs and have all her books. This one is also a typical Temp Brennan story however I didn't realise it was a "short story" so before Ryan could make an appearance the story was over. Still worth a read though

5.0 out of 5 stars A good story that you will find hard to put down, 2 July 2015

This second Harry Bosch takes off more or less where the first one left off so for those that have read the first book this will go down well. The plot is interesting and well laid out and very believable. There are twists and turns all the way through and Connelly has created a main character that we all can relate to - hated by his bosses, yet liked by his equals yet still gets the job done. This is a very good book that you just hate to put down and the real villains only become known during the final chapters. Well worth a read and I look forward to reading the next adventure of Harry Bosch.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good read, 21 Jun. 2015

I thought this was not a book for me when I read the prologue - child deaths are not my scene however it just got better and while you knew who the baddies were it is not until the very end that the real plot is unveiled I look forward to reading the next book in this series

BBQ Rotisserie Shish Kebab Wheel
BBQ Rotisserie Shish Kebab Wheel

4.0 out of 5 stars Good tool and Ideal for all BBQ's, 28 May 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I had been looking for something like this for a while but with Webber asking almost £50 I couldn't justify the cost however when I saw this on Amazon for half the price I decided to give it a go. Excellent piece of kit. So simple to use and even when the food was cooked it was easier than expected to remove the skewers from the rotisserie. This Kebab wheel should fit most if not all rotisseries. It has proven easy to clean. In my opinion it doesn't rate 5 stars because of one niggle - the round discs that hold the skewers - they are too flimsy and buckle with heat. Its a shame that a good idea with good size skewers should be spoilt by very thing end wheels. I'm guessing that after not too long I will have to replace them.

Fitbit Surge Ultimate Fitness Super Watch
Fitbit Surge Ultimate Fitness Super Watch
Price: £159.99 - £429.00

5.0 out of 5 stars The Rolls Royce of Activity watches, 8 April 2015
This has to be the Rolls Royce of fitness watches. I have had Suunto, Garmin and Sony and they are way way behind in functionality and performance. I cannot vouch for reliability yet having only owned the watch for a few days however I can say that the support and Fitbit community are excellent.

The Good bits: Functionality and updating are great. My Android and PC synch'd together, including the text and caller ID. The dashboard and features there are awesome. Battery life appears good so far however could be a tad limiting when using GPS. The seemless transfer of GPS data to Google Maps with all the relevant data appearing without a hitch.

The not so Good bits: The user manual leaves a bit to be desired - its good for initial options and set-up but not so good for trouble shooting. The music options are not yet available for Android users.

There is word spreading of a major software update this month (April 2015) that will add further activities including cycling proper, more accurate GPS logging and other bug fixes.

UPDATE: The awaited update is now out and available including a dedicated Cycle option, several bug fixes and new changes, including better battery monitoring and the watch face returns to clock after a few seconds (not liked by all - however I have no issue) FitBit have been having issues with their database and the latest Dashboard has a couple of anomalies - such as data not displaying properly first time - that said if you are patient then everything works - just maybe not first time. Its best to let the watch synch on its own (every 20 mins) as the problems seem to be if you force a synch There doesn't appear to be any improvement on battery life when using GPS so 5 hours on a full charge is pushing it a bit. Still worth 5 stars Fitbit have announced a link with Strava however they (Fitbit) seem to suffer from great ideas but not quite getting the quality with a first release. The new Dashboard tiles are a good improvement with some nice touches.
Update:
I've had the Surge for over 3 months now and continue to be impressed. The Surge link to Strava issues are now a thing of the past and all databases sync without effort. I feel sorry for some of the new users that are having problems setting up and sync'ing but I fear that impatience is partly to blame. You just have to know the limitations regarding synchronisation as it is still not as robust as it could be. When setting up you need to give it time to settle down rather than repeatedly forcing a sync just because it doesn't appear to have worked. I've helped several users get up and running this way with 100% success. There are still one or two anomalies such as once sync'd you need to refresh the screen to show the true figures as it doesn't refresh automatically. I have also experienced an occasion where the mileage value has "jumped" and shown a higher value on screen than on the Surge. The Strava link is working superb and I like viewing my cycle rides or walks on Strava rather than Fitbit as the mapping on Strava is much clearer when using satellite view. I wear my Surge 24 hours a day and find the sleep function to be uncannily accurate and thankfully haven't suffered from skin irritation as some others have. The strap and watch face still look like new with no signs of wear so the materials appear so far to be better than my Suunto X9i whose strap I had to replace every six months or so. I like the feature that sends me a text/email when my Surge battery is getting low - even though you still get a few hours grace before it really drains flat. I really like the fact that for 99% of the time its a normal watch even though its working away in the background. Overall I'm thrilled with the Surge and wonder if/when/what the next software update will bring. Still say this is the Rolls Royce of Activity watches and worth 5+ stars

Does what it says on the tin. I bought this memory card as it is recommended by Nikon for use in the D810 DSLR and I've not been disappointed. The D810 creates large files so it is important that the write speed can cope with high speed shooting. Here the Lexar performs well and comparable to the more expensive Sandisk offerings
