5.0 out of 5 stars Surprise, 27 Mar. 2007
This review is from: Como Ama Una Mujer (Audio CD)
Though I've always been a Jlo fan, I was aware of her limited vocal abilities and bubblegum music choices. The first time I heard this CD, I thought it was kind of boring, yet noticed the much better singing. Without background singers and amped music behind her, Jlo's shown that she actual wants to be a better vocalist and I was surprised by her new range, emotion and vocal control. I decided to give the CD another listen and found myself loving it. My favorite songs would be "tu", "te voy a querer" and "por arriesgarnos" with "adios" as a close fourth. This is without a doubt her best CD as I can listen to it from start to finish without skipping tracks and I wish there was an english version so more people could understand and love it as much as I do.

5.0 out of 5 stars A different, better approach, 29 May 2003
This review is from: This Is Me...Then (Audio CD)
When I first purchased this CD, I was a bit disappointed that the usual J-lo pop songs werent included on this album. I always prefer her pop versions over the remixes.. However, after listening to it a few times, I began to like the CD, now I LOVE it. I understand the directon she was heading for with the CD and I do believe her voice has gotten stronger and better. My favorite song is the opener "still".. I also love "baby I love you".. Its such an old sounding song, but her voice definitely shines here. Please disregard the negative comments and listen to it for yourself.. Overall, the album isnt a classic, but to me her best and one of the best albums (as far as total enjoyablilty)I've listened to in a long time.. You can actually play the CD from beginning to end without hearing a bad song or without getting bored (most recent CD's have a few good songs and the rest are pants) This isnt one
PS: The album cover and inside pics are great to look at :-) She's beautiful and knows how to work her stuff.
