5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book!, 13 Sept. 2005
If your considering purchasing this book, then Go Ahead, it is a valubale resource for anybody, particually the degree student, although being an American Publication it has many relevant case studies and all the textural content is universal, two negative points, unless you can get it hardback then the book is likely to become dog eared if being carried around in a bag because the paper is not of fantastic quality, and also the 3D Diagrams which have been adversited as a special feature of the new version, are actually quite confusing, they lack clear labels and flow, although they are attractive to look at, my advice is to try and get an older version maybe the 2000 version which has less gimicky diagrams!
Overall its a great book and 100% worth buying!
Enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great and Environmentally Friendly, 2 April 2005
Sadly Greenpeace has got a repuatation among some as being a radicalist group with rather militant views, and one would expect that a book titled 'The Armchair Environmentalist' and written in association with Greenpeace would be full of extreme and outrageous suggestions and eco friendly advice....well one would be very wrong. Archair Environmentalist: 3 Minute a day action plan to save the world, is a cohesive, understandable, simple, and actually realistic book full of ecologically sound advice, environmentally friendly tips and valuable information. The book is printed on 100% recycled paper, according the book the publishers the first book to be produced in this way. The paper quality is good, the book is lively and intersting, the illustations are colourfull and the book dosen't ramble on about Global warming and earths iminent destruction. Its full of usefull, realistic day to day advice for those who are just more aware of the impact their actions have on the environment. This book is fantastic, a pleaseure to read and a must have for everyone, not just the environmentalist.

4.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant, 2 April 2005
This book, although it at first may seem a little expensive for its size,is fabulous. Many of the earlier books written about St Kilda do have photographs, but not in the depth or variety of subjects that this book has. This book, does lack textural information, however there are more than enough books on the market to provide the enthusiast with reading material...what is lacking on the market are photographs and this book is perfect. It includes all of the more commonly seen images of the village, etc and then offers up more unique insights. Not a book for someone who has never read another St Kilda book, but definatley a companion to any of the other books written on the subject.
A fantastic book and printed on really good quality paper....just a shame its not 100% recycled.
