2.0 out of 5 stars Nothing like the picture, 29 Mar 2012
For reference this is rated ages 14+

Basically in this package you get a very small glass jar with a cork, a packet with the 'chemical', a wooden ice lolly like stick with a plastic bit at the end, and 2 small batteries, and lastly a tag with a bit of string. And a 'Seed' thing.

The instructions tell you to place the seed thing(Like a little pink pod thing) inside the jar. Afterwards you pour hot water into the jar, and add the mixture to it. The package instructs you to stir until the solution is clear and place the cork on the top.

The cork secures the thing perfectly so there is no leakage.

However this thing emits an odour whilst mixing, I guess some people have more tolerance than others but its probably best you do this thing near a window, or with your back door open/or outside.

You get a little bit of crystal growth but not like the picture shows, and I wouldn't call it much of a garden either. Perhaps everyone will get different results but I followed the instructions to the letter and was left kinda dissapointed in the result.

Generally speaking, the instructions state to leave the cork on for 24 hours, then remove. You then need to place in a safe place for a few weeks. This could be a problem for parents or people with pets that like to explore(Obviously as the package states not to get the stuff on your hands, or inhale/consume as it will cause serious problems)

Buy with caution. Not the greatest product out there and results may vary from person to person

5.0 out of 5 stars Fuwa Fuwa time!, 29 Mar 2012
K-On! is a slice of life music orientated series, which does not contain any fanservice, violence or anything untoward and is suitable for any age or gender.

Basically this anime is about a group of girls who form 'The Light Music Club' a club where they come together most days and perform music, and of course hang out doing not so much.

Yui is the main character in this series, an often absent minded girl who quickly learns how to play the guitar and generally comes accross as quite innoncent and harmless.

Although there isn't much in the way of plot in this series, it is quite fun to watch the characters progress from being a not so good musical band to an almost all star band performing infront of a live audience with confidence.

You'l notice throughout the series, the focus on slice of life elements from Yui getting her guitar, to the band recruiting new members, to the girls just doing random stuff. That's not a bad thing. But if you're looking for something deep you may need to look elsewhere.

If you're looking for a light hearted show, that's harmless and for any age, look no further!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best series in years!, 29 Mar 2012
Angel Beats was produced by the same studio that did Clannad, Lucky Star, Haruhi and many of anime shows many people regard as being excellent and in general are well loved by the fans.

The anime starts off with Otonashi appearing on the school grounds confused, without any memory of where and how he got there, upon encountering a girl called Yuri who has a gun aimed at 'Angel' he immediately jumps into action not realising he is infact dead, and in limbo per say.

Quickly trying to grasp the situation he has found himself in, he joins the 'Afterlife Battlefront' a group of students who are fighting against God and 'Angel'.

In some ways this anime is more slice of life, but it is also very tragic. Each and every character in this series has a story to tell about how they died, and why they are there. Each character has issues to resolve and this is how this anime really comes into play.

The school inwhich this anime is based at is populated by what they describe as NPCs, students created to populate the school but don't possess a soul or anything.

One thing you will notice about this series is the animation, it is quite frankly amazing.

Although this anime has a lot of action and comedy moments, there is also a 'rock' band called Girls Dead Monster, who perform a wide range of catchy tunes that are really good.

The English and Japanese languge tracks are quite good.

I clearly regard this as one of the best anime shows ever made. It's so good, yet so sad.
