The Heart of Yoga Revealed
The Heart of Yoga Revealed
Price: £7.19

5.0 out of 5 stars WONDERFUL WORK, 9 Mar. 2013
A grave misunderstanding exists in society today. In attempting to improve self many people search in the wrong path and this excellent tome by Judy L. White reveals why people need to know the full truth about Yoga for their spiritual & physical wellbeing in the years ahead.

Judy L. White succinctly and accurately reveals where Yoga originates from & how others claim it entered the world. She further explains who created the vocabulary of Yoga & what it's postures communicate & what it's purpose is. She elucidates the truth about Yoga and whether it bridges a union between the practioner and "spirits" which proves to me that this book is well overdue to set the record straight. This tome would be helpful for people who make silly claims about Yoga without first researching what we discover is an occult ritual & practice. Christian people especially would be extremely wise to purchase this either in paperback or in electronic format (I read the former) & have already recommended to others.

The book is well organised systematically into twelve excellent chapters exposing Yoga for what it really is. The author covers the mechanics of yoga, how it can ensnare our children, how Yoga was introduces to both the Americas & the west in general. I would particulary recommend the third chapter where our author exposes the true spirit behind Yoga which makes this unique and timely book a must buy for people in every walk of life.

The "Heart of Yoga" would be particularly useful for pastoral workers, teachers of religious moral & philosophical studies, clergy & people of both genders of all ages. The author has shown that she's been thorough in her research providing a wide and varied bibliography whilst this book is highly readable.

As you read it you will want to pause often, turning to various passages of scripture & taking the time to think through the implications of these most vital truths for those with any interest in Yoga.

EXCELLENT!

1.0 out of 5 stars AVOID like the plague!, 1 Aug. 2012
An abysmal book written by a liberal who's obviously not born-again in the Spirit...you'll know this after yawning through the first chapter & the rest of the book is worse. Utterly lacking in wisdom or sound theology this book was detested by my fellow Ministers back in the U.K. & not without good reason. It's no wonder that the church in Britain is in turmoil when rubbish like this is peddled to it's clergy. The language used is off-putting, it's distinct lack of genuine Pastoral love makes you wonder where the author is coming from. The Protestant faith is Biblical Christianity and God's pastors need to be edified by books that will help them grow in faith to give good care to their flocks...this book doesn't accomplish that in any way, shape or form.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful read & edifying., 1 Aug. 2012
Like all John Piper's Books this tome is sound theologically and full of encouragement, widsom and interesting information for those who wish to grow in faith...also excellent for young men considering a call to Ministry or mission.

5.0 out of 5 stars WONDERFUL WORK, 14 Mar. 2011
Dr Burgess is an Award-winning Scientist/Engineer who has produced an excellent tome that I can't compliment enough. He shows that there are numerous areas of nature that simply cannot have evolved and he really makes one think before accepting the ridiculous theory (really a model) of evolution. I also am an Engineer & scientist so it is wonderful to discover such an erudite author whose work should be taught in Schools and Universities all over the Globe.

I would love to give a copy of this to BBC Science presenter Prof Brian Cox (keyboard player with 90's band D-REAM) then maybe he'll have produced a more accurate production that people can take seriously rather than the BAD Science that is actually is. With Hallmarks of Design I will have to warn that it can be very technical for those who do not have an Engineering or Scientific background. His work about irreducible mechanisms and the "added beauty" in nature are both thought-provoking and intellectually stimulating. A thoroughly great read-especially for High School Teachers hellbent on ignoring Intelligent Design & promoting Bad Science like Darwins unproven model it will help make them more balanced and closer to the Truth.

To sum this book up in only one word it has to be "Wonderful!"
