Solar Mosquito Repeller
Solar Mosquito Repeller

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, 31 Aug. 2011
I bought this product to avoid having to use chemical creams & sprays, whilst in the Caribbean; unfortunately I don't believe it works. The first night out I noticed a mosquito landed right beside it, I wouldn't trust the compass, it sticks & shows North in a different direction each time & the solar panel doesn't recharge. All-in-all a waste of postage & money.....shame.

5.0 out of 5 stars Creative Concrete!, 1 Mar. 2009
Creative, imaginative & as a designer perfect inspiration which was what I was looking for.
I wish I had bought the other two books in the series. This book has kindled an excitement to use concrete, it's use has unlimited possibilities & amazing potential.
The content has a exciting combination of ideas & techniques put together in a modern graphical format.

1.0 out of 5 stars Simply Concrete, 1 Mar. 2009
The book is written for people intending to start a business in concrete work with chapters on samples, estimating, selling & marketing (I wouldn't have ordered the book if this had been explained in the title or detail).
It also states the obvious repeatedly which may mean it's written for uneducated or maybe none DIY people.
The photos, layout & presentation is very dated, but the step by step instructions have some useful tips & points out the pit falls involved. Unfortunately some of the materials recommended are brands & probably only available in the US.
It could be useful to contractors starting or adding another service to their company; as a designer I'm left feeling uninspired & ripped off as I decided to buy this book instead of 2 others. The cover is more exciting than the content.

5.0 out of 5 stars Oak Fab Build!, 1 Mar. 2009
This review is from: Oak-framed Buildings (Paperback)
Fantastic Book! As a designer I found it to be informative, insipational & beautifully presented. A well balanced use of pictures & diagrams; it's very educational covering details about the trees, how the oak framed buildings where originally constructed through to examples of todays builds. Since my original purchase I've bought a further three copies as presents & have had to pass on the details to others (mainly in the build trade) who have also been impressed with it's content.
