In the Firing Line: The Jim Leighton Story
In the Firing Line: The Jim Leighton Story
by Jim Leighton
Edition: Hardcover

4.0 out of 5 stars An unlikely legend, 9 Dec 2009
This is a fine read for anyone interested in the rollercoaster career of Scotland's second most capped player. The only downside is probably the lack of detail surrounding his acrimonious departure from Man Utd, and his strange loans shortly before it, notably to Arsenal. Though the book is very open, and an interesting insight into the life and turmoil of a very successful goalkeeper. Well worth a read.

What an awfull film , I love Rodney Dangerfield , but he's terrible in this . He's too old to play the part , and the jokes bomb , it's not a good film at all , and a real chore to sit though .

4.0 out of 5 stars Gang WAY !, 28 April 2006
It's worth sitting through the not so good parts just to see Chris Morris , this is perhaps his finest display of acting . There's one episode called The Haunting Of Bill Crouse starring Adam Buxton , which is comedy gold .

A hell , who cares where it came from , it still deserves 5 stars . It really is a great little read , and I'm glad I bought it even though I own Kingdom Of Fear .

4.0 out of 5 stars ChampMan, 14 Oct 2003
It's by far the best champ man game around , and for that matter Manager game . It's the quicker than the one after it and is far more enjoyable , ie you don't get sacked just for buying the whole Partick Thistle team for Broussia Dortmund . The only downside is that there is no editor , but that just ruins the game anyway wjen you try and un bankrupt Crystal Palace or someone , and then you feel like a worthless cheat . 4 and a half stars , but don't buy it if you intend to pass any exams .

Forget that nonsense that the other revier wrote , this film is absolute comedy . It's the kinda film that you'd watch then impersonate with an obscure friend of yours for years to come . Don't buy it expecting a tense horror film , that it is'nt , and don't expect it to have aged at all well , it looks very 70's . However do get it if u like films like "The Thing" and "The Naked Gun" . At the end if you don't wish a victory for the large rabbid dog , in the duel between the mother and itself , then there's something wrong with you .

4.0 out of 5 stars Naughty , naughty , very naughty, 19 May 2003
This review is from: The Shamen Collection (Audio CD)
I'm not too impressed with the second CD with the suspect remixes , the first CD however is brilliant . They were not just a dance group the Shamen , they have some good rock style songs in this album , and in some of the songs the lyrics really are good thought provoking messages and themes . This is a best of album with all their greats and some songs I had never heard of , but turned out to be better than their better known songs . A must have for fans of Ebeneezer Goode etc and fans of the Old School dance scene . Great price also ; considering it's a best of and it's on two CD's .

3.0 out of 5 stars This star never got out of obscurity, 19 May 2003
This review is from: The Mirror Man Sessions (Audio CD)
Im kinda undesided on this one , in some places you get brilliant captain songs in others you get weird Zappaesque stuff that I feel Captain Beefheart should have avoided . He should have stuck to jazz and blues because that is a great voice he has , similar to Keith Richards in the way it builds images and helps on the story of the song . Still a good acidy jazz albumm with some great songs on it . If it had Upon the my O my in it , then it would be his best album .

5.0 out of 5 stars Move over Jagger, 19 May 2003
This review is from: Main Offender (Audio CD)
This is a great album considering it's only the second time Richards has been able to break free from the Stones and go solo . It's fantastic to listen to Keith in bulk when on the Stones albums you only hear flashes of that great voice . His voice in this album is smooth in some places and craggy in others making it a superb Richards blues/soul/rock album . It's an enthralling album full of songs that build images of Richards in and out of differing relations and smokey bars . A great album for any Keith fan and fans of rock and roll in general .

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Stones 80's, 19 May 2003
This review is from: Undercover (Audio CD)
A good rocky stones album which sounds very modern considering it's 20 years old . A interesting mix of blues , soul and rock making all songs on this album quite different from each other and listenable over and over again . Richard's song on it is as usual class and very powerfull . Too much blood is not only a good upbeat song but is also a good laugh in parts ; especially when Jagger describes his coversation on the Texas chainsaw massacre . A mixed bag of songs that complement each other perfectly , along with Steel Wheels this is their joint best 80's album .
