5.0 out of 5 stars Great - don't know why the negative reviews, 10 Mar 2014
This is a great throwback to nostalgia gaming with classic SEGA titles, my favourites being the Golden Axe trilogy and The Streets of Rage trilogy.

Simple to setup, simple to play - ok, wireless controllers need to be aimed at the console to get signal, but that's all you need to ensure, and it plays flawlessly, picture quality on a high-def TV is decent enough for what it is (Retro) and the fun is immediate.

Very pleased with the purchase, can't find negativet things to say, for the price - classic SEGA :)

4.0 out of 5 stars Quality effort - great launch title - as as usual, ain't broke, don't fix it, 24 Nov 2013

I've really enjoyed this latest Forza 5 on the next-gen console.

Already, after initially trying it on the easy level, cranked up the realistic driving difficulty, removed driving aids, braking aids, braking lines etc and AI difficulty and it is proving frustrating to get good results and really keeping the car on the road.

This is driving at its best. All the Forza games are realistic in this way - people might groan about this, that, the other, little touches missing, but it is always about the meat and bones of the driving realism and crash damage, and here, it is fully demonstrated when racing.

Any gripes are only minor for this, it is solid Forza, and again, ain't broken so didn't need fixing, and looks great on the next generation Xbox One

4.0 out of 5 stars Very decent console - powerful and classy looking, 24 Nov 2013
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
Personally, I am very satisfied with the Xbox One.

The design is simplistic in the way it is box-like, and appears to be a miniature version of a Foxsat PVR Satellite box, it just blends in with a modern TV and stand.

Installing and setting up very easy, as well as impressive Kinect, and the seamless internet always-on connection; it is a piece of multimedia classy kit that also delivers in the gaming.

First launch titles of Forza 5 and Dead Rising 3 are strong opening titles; it will only get stronger.

I think there will be little to choose from between Xbox One and Playstation 4, they are moving things into the next generation, and it is showing. Satisfied purchase.

4.0 out of 5 stars Keeps in-line with the first two Dead Rising series, 22 Nov 2013

Gotta admit, if it ain't broke don't fix it, is very much the theme here.

Keeps the feel of the first two, and keeps the quality, I feel it doesn't try to get too far away from what made the first two great and the Critic website reviews all say it is Good too.

Got to agree with them. Added more humour and keep those maniac Human bosses there, just keeps things familiar, which is no bad thing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent presentation - what you expect of Brady game guides, 25 Mar 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Brady Game signature series guides are like Prima guides; they have an established and firm reputation for producing collectible and beautifully put-together strategy guides with maps, explanations, enemy details etc.

Tomb Raider strategy guide is, like many Brady Game guides, established quality giving everything that's needed to complete the game, plus clear explanation of the maps etc.

A decent purchase, that goes with my many other Prima/Brady Game guide collection.

Recommended.

24 Heures du Mans 2008 : Le livre officiel de la plus grande course d'endurance du monde
by Christian Moity
Edition: Hardcover

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful, coffee-table book for the Le Mans enthusiast, 19 Dec 2012
This is a beautiful coffee-table, colour-illustration book on the official race of the 2008 Le Mans 24 hours.

The race itself was typical Le Mans drama, with Audi taking, yet again, the chequered flag - the 3rd time for the astounding Audi R10 Diesel - the first diesel-powered Le Mans winner.

Gorgeous illustrations and pictures of the incident-filled race, between the 4 classes of cars, such as the battle between Audi and Peugeot and the GT1 race-versions of the road-going cars such as the Corvette C6R and the Aston Martin DRB9.

What a book....highly recommended for the Le Mans fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars Only just started to read - but already glimpses show what a fantastic book, 19 Aug 2012
I found this book in Foyles London.

Personally, I believe there are so many books on the subject of psychic protection - it is like a minefield, so personally, I hate to willy nilly buy any books.

But Ted Andrews - this book is something else.

I spent 20 minutes browsing and reading sections, and it covers everything from the myths of psychic protection to animal spirits, tree spirits, ghosts and spirit attacks - he covers everything.

He also tells people how to avoid bad psychics and those who manipulate, as well as amazing psychic tools for everyday use.

I have another book by Ted Andrews called 'Meet your spirit guides' and this is an interesting and thought-provoking book too, so I knew this author was very good. And this book is a thing of beauty with nice illustrations inside as well.

What a book. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ashkenazy and Previn are superb - a great Rachmaninov collection, 5 Dec 2011
What can I say? This is one heck of a collection of the best piano works of Rachmaninov and the beauty of his romantic, dynamic virtuoso works.

Ashkenazy is well-known for his interpretation of Rachmaninov's piano works and conducting his orchestral works - I like the cadenza he plays in the 3rd Piano concerto 1st movement - he does the more difficult version in this recording.

Amongst all the superb Preludes, Etudes-Tableaux are my favourites - The Corelli variations and the 2 piano suites nos 1 and 2 - Ashkenazy and Previn compliment each other perfectly in this, as well as the excellent piano version of The Symphonic Dances.

What a collection - well worth every expensive penny.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lammermuir is the best effort from Phamie Gow, 20 Oct 2011
This review is from: Lammermuir (Audio CD)
Personally, Lammermuir is a very special effort - the most classical and true-to-the-Scottish Celtic roots themed of all her albums.

The later albums are full of charm, but they are probably more catering to the mainstream easy listeners, whereas Lammermuir is closer to the Classical music genre rather than crossover, and, being an early album, is quite special.

Especially the Nightfold track, amongst others, combined with multiple instruments, this is the original and works even more beautifully than the piano solo version from 'Moments of Time'. All the tracks are hauntingly beautiful with combined instrumental accompaniments, and, to top it all - is a live recording.

Highly recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars An all round pleasant album to own - lovely effort this latest, 16 Oct 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I bought this for my mother's birthday, as she is a fan of Phamie Gow.

She always enjoys listening to her albums.

A good contrast from the first piano album - Moments of Time; moves away from the more Celtic themes to explore more colourful writing.

In particular, Peace Song and Carousel are the stand-out tracks, complimented by the rest - an all round charmer of an album, with that still distinct Celtic feel mixed with whimsical musicality.
