Very well written and founded on historical facts, which have been well researched. Paints a very good picture of Galloway at that time in history.

Only 5 patterns included and these are uninspiring and need little skill. The mobile looks very clumsy. I was very disappointed.

I actually bought this book to send to a friend in New Zealand. She recently learned Chinese and has travelled to China and I thought she'd be very interested in this story. I read the book many years ago and would recommend it as a very interesting and compassionate story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Imaginative Patchwork, 24 Feb. 2010
I was delighted with this book. It was full of ideas for "picture" patchwork. Hexagons could be cut in so many different sizes to make items from small pictures, to huge wallhangings and quilts. It certainly inspired me and I made a beautiful wallhanging for my daughter's birthday by adapting one of the patterns.

I'd thoroughly recommend this book to anyone who wants to be more creative with hexagons.
