1.0 out of 5 stars rave infested metal/emo abomination, 31 Aug 2007
This review is from: Take To The Skies (Audio CD)
this horrible cd which i had the misfortune to spend money on, is simply, bloody awful. with one decent song "ok,time for plan b" the band have actually given themselves some sound advice. and yes, i have listened to it over and over again to see if it would grow on me. the only thing that grew was annoyance that i actually spent a tenner on it. it was a nice idea to fuse rave with metal, but in truth, ministry and fear factory have been kind of doing the same for years and doing it better. this album just doesnt work for me. i wont be replacing devil horns for glow sticks anytime soon... not while machine head are showing the way forward with their new album!

5.0 out of 5 stars crushing, pyschadelic "hillbilly" rock...danish style, 10 Mar 2007
volbeat return with their second offering of manic, metallica does country style crazyness. id never heard of this band, until by chance, i saw the video to their upcoming single "the gardens tale", and i was blown away by the wonderful changes from a slow, relaxing opening, to a full-on assualt on the senses. wonderful vocals, great drumming and simply fantastic music with a obvious scandanavian tinge, this album should be heard and heard loud. to some, it might take a few listens to really feel it, and others (like me) will be hooked instantly. rock the rebel/metal the devil is what it would sound like if the late, great johnny cash had formed a heavy rock group! if you are bored with metalcore and emo, GET THIS ALBUM!
