The Reel Truth: Everything You Didn't Know You Need to Know about Making an Independent Film
The Reel Truth: Everything You Didn't Know You Need to Know about Making an Independent Film
by Reed Martin
Edition: Paperback
Price: £14.24

5.0 out of 5 stars Writing a screenplay? This book is a must, 29 April 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This book is essential for anyone working on a screenplay - not just for those who want to make an independent film. Stories and screenplays get stolen all the time and chapter 6 provides invaluable advice on how to prevent this from happening. Reed Martin solicited the advice of copyright and intellectual property lawyers on what steps are essential to protect one's creative work. Because the law is stacked against the independent screenwriter and IP lawsuits rarely brought or won against the studios, it's best to read this book and follow the steps that Reed outlines. It will prevent a huge amount of heartache, not to mention lost time, effort and earnings.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent resource, 18 July 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
As someone who does a lot of work in different organisations, I'm finding this an excellent resource in terms of making sense of what I'm seeing and experiencing. I'm also finding it really helpful in identifying frameworks and approaches that can help explain things to clients. If I were teaching management students about the art and science of working and consulting in organisations, I would certainly be using this text as an assigned text or a library reference. I think the authors have done an impressive job of summarising the area of organisational change for scholars and particularly practitioners like myself.

5.0 out of 5 stars A real-life genuine shaman and her journey, 14 Jun 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I've worked with Anna and she is the real deal - a gifted healer who uses shamanic practices to help people on their path to health and wellbeing. I've had amazing experiences with her myself. But until I read this book I did not know about her own personal journey. It is a gripping story, one that I could not put down. Whether you personally believe in shamanism or not, this is a great read that has it all - love, adventure, an exotic setting, unforgettable characters and people who become their better selves. I'm looking forward to reading it a second time.

Price: £10.68

5.0 out of 5 stars Networking made easy, 8 Feb 2011
This review is from: The Network Effect (Paperback)
Networking is akin to public speaking for many people, but it won't be after they read this book. It actually takes the fear and anxiety out of the process and makes it seem easy if not even fun. Well-written and full of good cases and stories, tools and techniques, and personal examples from the authors themselves. Recommended for anyone who wants to become proficient in building and maintaining their network.
