5.0 out of 5 stars The Dream Team versus Zygons!, 6 May 2014

Tom Baker, Elisabeth Sladen and Ian Marter (the dream team in my opinion) versus Zygons! What more do you want?

Great story from probably the best season of 70s Doctor Who.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Debut Novel, 6 May 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Transfer (Paperback)
I thoroughly enjoyed this debut novel by Alana Curran. There are a few minor problems with the novel such as typographic and grammatical errors. I felt that these should have been dealt with by the publisher prior to publication, however, setting these issues aside, the actual story content, pacing, characters and imagination of the story are incredible. I look forward to reading the next instalment.

Alana has a bright future ahead of her as a writer if this is her starting point.

I would say the target audience for the novel is mid teens but overall it was a storming good read.

5 out of 5.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nostalgia Aint What It Used To Be, 13 Oct. 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Let me lay my cards on the table ... I bought this DVD set because I collect Doctor Who merchandise. I don't recommend either of these stories as great examples Classic Doctor Who against the Cybermen (my favourite villain from old days Who) - they are worse than I remember. The extras on the DVDs help put a bit of polish on them.

Seller Rating 10 out of 10: The DVDs are excellent quality and the package arrived on delivery time in great order.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Ink At Reasonable Price, 13 Oct. 2010
The ink cartridge arrived the day after I ordered it without me having to request an urgent delivery from either the supplier or Amazon. It does the job perfectly and it doesn't cost as much as a brand new cartridge. 10 out of 10. I will be buying from this seller again.

3.0 out of 5 stars Diddling Daleks, 26 Aug. 2010
I love this story because it was the one that introduced my two kids to Doctor Who. They saw my older version of the Remembrance of the Daleks DVD in my collection and borrowed it - watched it and were hooked.

Why did I buy this version? Well it has the extras that were missing from the first edition. It's a bit of a diddle really isn't it? But hey ... what can ya do?

McCoy is excellent in this. The daleks come off rather well for a change.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dominators Dominating :-), 26 Aug. 2010

I love The Dominators because it has Patrick Troughton doing what he does best ... making a master piece out of rubbish material. His double act with Frazer Hines is a gem.

The story is terrible and the production team even gave up on it one episode earlier than anticipated but hey - its Troughton!

The EASYi USB SD Card Reader is great for accessing the pics you have added to your memory card. It makes transfering them to the computer much easier too.

Downsides? None that I can tell. Well - okay maybe one. It doesn't allow you to access video clips stored on the camera. Well - you can't have everything I suppose.

I liked it. Simple and does the job.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Mouse Mat, 21 Jan. 2010
This is a great mouse mat for Doctor Who fans. Unfortunately Amazon seems to treat it as a toy and expected me to rate it as such. No can do. Anyway, its worth the money and thats what matters.

5.0 out of 5 stars Auf Wiedersehen Pet - Brilliant, 29 Oct. 2009
Take seven different lads from different backgrounds, throw them together on a building site in Germany and get to know them over a dozen episodes ... it doesn't sound much of a concept for a hit drama/comedy but Auf Wiedersehen Pet was the surprise hit of the early eighties. In the hands of lesser actors I doubt if it would have worked but somehow the mix of established actors and newbies (at the time) worked a treat.

The stories are brilliantly written and you can't help but feel a genuine affection for the boys. These are the guys you always wanted to have as your mates - no matter how annoying, interfering, boorish and loud they could be - you know you could count on them. The first series always finished off with the rollickingly good tune of "Livin' All Right". No other closing theme ever came close to this in any of the other Auf Wiedersehen Pet serials. It summed the boys up - they worked hard and they played hard.

This DVD has it all - drama and comedy. Genuine touches of genius ... and Oz!

The picture needs the digital treatment but all in all I would recommend this to anyone who fancies a laugh on a cold winters night.
