Epson Px800FW, 15 April 2009
After using a Epson RX560 for about 3 years I decided to upgrade. The Epson PX800fw has plenty of features that my old printer didn't have including wireless printing which is a must for me ( now I have a Macbook Pro).
The build quality on this printer is very good overall, the paper tray has the potential to break but as long as your not heavy fisted with it then I don't see why it should break since it's only holding paper.
The interface is very appealing and simple to use, it was this feature that made my decision to get this model over the PX700W which is the model below.
I've only used it once so far and that was with the Auto Document feeder and I'm very pleased with the quality it produced as it was a scan. The speed is incredible and it can be very hand if you scan documents frequently.
I disabled the ' Auto head maintenance' in order to safe the expensive ink so now it shouldn't keep charging the cartridge...
Would I recommend it ? Yes, but only if you need to features it has to offer. If you just print a few document now and then, then maybe you should look for a lower priced printer ( but Epson make these are I really like them ). I'm a Amateur Photographer therefor I need a good quality photo printer and according to Epson, it has better than lab quality prints.
You also get a few sheets of Premium Photo paper, which is a nice little bonus ! ( as well as the included ink cartridges )
