JLA/JSA: Virtue and Vice
JLA/JSA: Virtue and Vice
by Geoff Johns
Edition: Hardcover

4.0 out of 5 stars JLA/JSA team-up - has to be good, 18 Mar 2010
You couldn't have a Thanksgiving for the JLA and JSA where everything goes according to plan, could you? This time it's Despero and Johnny Sorrow, and the resulting mess is both fascinating and amusing. The artwork isn't the best, but the plot and character relationships are great (Black Canary, Green Arrow and Dr.Mid-Nite in the same team is highly entertaining) and more than make up for it. There's a nice conclusion and overall, it's a pretty good read.

4.0 out of 5 stars JSA Classified 19 review, 18 Mar 2010
This is a good comic that focusses on Dr.Mid-Nite as he attempts to track down the culprit behind an outbreak of meta-human organ-napping (it makes sense when you read it). The basic plot's good and there's an interesting encounter with Roulette from JSA, but you'll need to buy issue 20 for the conclusion.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lords of Luck: Great book, 18 Mar 2010
This book is great. I love team-up stories and this book is full of them. The main focus is on Batman, Green Lantern and Supergirl, but we've also got Blue Beetle, Lobo, Adam Strange and, best of all, the Legion of Super-Heroes. The interactions between the characters are great; I was laughing out loud when Batman met Brainiac 5. It's got a good plot and great artwork, and it's definitely worth buying.

4.0 out of 5 stars Black Adam and Isis, 18 Mar 2010
This book follows on from the events of "Thy Kingdom Come" and "Countdown to Infinite Crisis" and focusses on the relationship between the Marvel and Black Marvel families. We find out what happens when Black Adam is reunited with his beloved Isis, and the consequences this has for Billy and Mary Batson. Plus, fractures start appearing within the JSA after their battle with Gog, Stargirl has a birthday and some heroes take a trip back to WWII. It's a great book with plenty of twists, turns and hints of what is to come in the future. The characters are really well written, the dialogue's good and the artwork is great. I'd seriously recommend buying it.

Doctor Mid-Nite
Doctor Mid-Nite
by Matt Wagner
Edition: Paperback

5.0 out of 5 stars This book is amazing, 18 Mar 2010
This review is from: Doctor Mid-Nite (Paperback)
This is one of my favourite comic books ever. Dr.Mid-Nite is a fascinating character and this book does a great job revealing his origin and earliest case. The plot is modern and (relatively) realistic and the characters are really believable. I also like the artwork; it's sharper and darker than the latest JSA comics. I'd really recommend buying it, especially if you don't know that much about Pieter Cross. Believe me, it's worth it.

3.0 out of 5 stars JSA Classified 20 review, 18 Mar 2010
This is a good comic that continues Dr. Mid-Nite's adventure from issue 19. I quite enjoyed it; an old villain is integrated nicely into the plot and the writer has a good understanding of Mid-Nite's character. Needs to be read in orderto make complete sense though.

COVENANT CROWN STAR TREK
COVENANT CROWN STAR TREK
by Howard Weinstein
Edition: Paperback

4.0 out of 5 stars I liked this book!, 18 Mar 2010
This is a really good example of a decent Star Trek book. There isn't too much tecno-babble and it's very easy to read. Weinstein has an excellent understanding of the characters; the interactions between Spock and McCoy are highly entertaining. There's a good plot with a nice mix of talk and action and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
