Dear Dead Person (High Risk)
Dear Dead Person (High Risk)
by Benjamin Weissman
Edition: Paperback

3.0 out of 5 stars Intriguing..., 1 Feb. 2013

I bought this book on the strength of a friend raving about it... Its essentially a book of prose & short stories that tap the vein, push the boundary & provoke thought with undercurrents of the macabre & occasionally morbid... The description said it was in brand new condition, so was a little disappointed to find a coffee cup ring on the cover & a strip of sticky tape on the inner cover holding the pages in where they had come away from the cover... But that aside, it was an enjoyable read...

Haven't actually watched this item as it was a gift for my parents & they have thoroughly enjoyed it... So though I can't speak for it myself, it has been an awesome treat & a great laugh out loud belly laugh for my parents... And indeed a good purchase for me to have bought them...

Bought this item for my mum & dad & its been a treat for the entire family as we've all laughed out loud at wit, situations & great characterisation of a classic show that I'm sure in time will be remembered as fondly as Father Ted...

5.0 out of 5 stars The force is strong in this one..., 1 Feb. 2013

Loved this item... Bought this and the red one and am suitable impressed with both... And a bargain for the price to boot... I've seen the much more expensive metal handled ones, but for the price, this was the baby to run with... The cover picture does not do it justice... They turn on & off in the same manner as they do in the films, with many of the authentic sound effects based on movement and impact... Tough, durable & will raise a grin whether you are 4, 14 or 40... Had tons of fun with them with my kids & my friends and am even gonna do some wacky vids with them for Youtube... Absolute bargain...

I enjoyed the first 3 specials, but felt it was completely let down by end of time...
The next Doctor was a fun festive Cyberman story & the Cyberking looked awesome...
Planet of the dead was great, great aliens, UNIT, Lee Evans & of course Michelle Ryan is a hottie...
Waters of Mars, the Timelord victorious, going against a fixed point in time, great tension & drama throughout...
So I felt the end of time was a big pile of s***e & an insult to David Tennant as his last story... Big build up for the Timelords, come & gone 5 minutes tops, the master leaping all about the place (WTF was that about? Tom Baker wouldn't have fallen to his doom in Logopolis if Timelords can leap about like that), & since when can the Doctor hold back a regeneration to go about such important business as setting Jack up on a date & buying lottery tickets & seeing Rose before they met? What a load of bollocks... Just my opinion of course, but I'm glad RTD is gone...
