3.0 out of 5 stars misses the target, 3 Dec. 2007
This review is from: The Collection (Audio CD)
I fail to understand how songs like " just like a man " and " kiss this thing goodbye " -to name just two-are not included on a "best of" cd of Delamitri. They are both essential for the legacy of the group.
Who is responsible for the compilation ?The group itself?Someone who knows and really likes delamitri?I doubt it.
A "best of" that really covers the whole career of the group is still missing.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must have!!!, 7 Nov. 2002
This review is from: Best of (Audio CD)
For anybody into the late '70s early '80s era of british new wave Fischer Z should be considered among the best artists. With a very rare and precious sense of melody in their songs.Although the lyrics of J.Watts remind of XTC or DEVO(as so often mentioned) the sound of the group is closer to groups like Police, Specials or Joe Jackson.Typical trio or quartet sound with strong bass lines and even stronger rythm section playing from reggae to fast powerfull new wave/rocknroll.
Its hard to choose among their first 3 lps."World salad" may include "preety paracetamol" or "the worker" still lucks "so long""crazy girl" or "red skies over paradise".The same can be commented for the other lps and as i imagine only a few would buy all three of them this compilation really covers the needs for the rest of us.There is no strong song of FZ missing on this one.Invest!!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars His best album!, 5 Nov. 2002
This review is from: Living in Oz (Audio CD)
This is the album that changed R.S. from the typical '70's sound to the "bigger", modern(at the time),sophisticated sound of the '80's.Better produced, arranged and played, turned to a more "rock" sound together with a more "mature" song writing by Rick. There is a line up of excellent musicians too.All this to serve the best song collection Rick has ever presented on an album."Alyson","Living in oz","Affair of the heart","Motel eyes",
"Souls","Cant stop hurting you",its really hard to choose the highlights.
This is! the best R.S. album and probably one of the best '80's Fmrock albums. If youre in to that kind of music(foreigner, pat benatar, heart, john mellencamp, def leppard etc )thats a best buy!
