The Plains of Passage (Earth's Children Book 4)
The Plains of Passage (Earth's Children Book 4)
Price: £5.99

4.0 out of 5 stars Slow start, but worth it, 15 July 2013
Another brilliantly written book. The author manages to include a lot of details about the surroundings of the 2 main characters as they travel the ancient lands of earth, but it does not drag the story down, or make it boring as some stories tend to be if too much details is added.

This book is all about Jondalar taking Ayla back to his home. They meet people along the way and the journey lasts almost a full year! There are many obstacles they must overcome to get where they want to go.It is a bit slow to get started, however it is worth the wait and is a good solid story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant series, 15 July 2013
I have just finished this book yesterday and i have to say i am still very much enjoying this series! It's hard to immagine what could happen in these books if you have not read them, it's about cave men, what could possibly happen? As it turns out a lot can happen and it does.

This book is about Ayla being introduced to 'the others' and how she adapts to her new life with civilization again after her 3 years alone after leaving 'the clan,' the people who raised her. The people she is with now are so different to the Clan that she stuggles to understand the culture and how they think and feel, although she does learn the language very quickly. Things start to go wrong between her and Jondalar (the first man she ever met of her own people) and due to a barrier of culture and upbringing they struggle to know how to fix things, which ultimately leads to more misunderstandings and distance between them.

The tension between Ayla and Jondalar is unbearable at times. I was desperate to find out what happens between them, very well written.

The Valley of Horses (Earth's Children Book 2)
The Valley of Horses (Earth's Children Book 2)
Price: £5.99

5.0 out of 5 stars Loving this wonderful series, 15 July 2013
This series takes off where the clan of the cave bear finished.

Ayla has been cursed and cast out on her own. She's all alone and has lost everything. This book really is about her coming to terms with leaving the clan and life without them. It also introduces her own pople into the story, instead of just being 'the others' you get to know about their culture and views and how they live.

You get to meet a few diferent communities as 2 brothers travel the lands following the river to the sea. You can tell as the story progresses that the 2 brothers and Ayla will meet at some point, but i won't comment on this, you will have to wait and see :)

Very interesting and I enjoyed this book very much.

Soul of the Fire (The Sword of Truth #5)
Soul of the Fire (The Sword of Truth #5)

5.0 out of 5 stars Awsome!!!, 10 July 2013
This is a great series!! I love it and all the characters in it. Another great addition.

I enjoyed this book sooo much, I enjoyed learning more about the world Terry Goodkind has invented. We learn lots about a land called Anderith and the people in it.

The evil 'dream walker' has plans to overthrow the Midlands and is starting to implement them. Eek!

There is an evil in the land and many people are dying because of it. It's draining magic from the land and people with power are now like everyone else. Richard must fight for survival and the lives of his people.

Another great journey, another great story.

This book is hard to explain. So much happens and changes throughout the book it's hard to belive it's all part of the same story!

Many times throughout the book I had no idea what was going to happen or where things were leading.Very intricate story, very interesting and unique.

Temple of the Winds (The Sword of Truth #4)
Temple of the Winds (The Sword of Truth #4)

5.0 out of 5 stars I thought it was excellent!, 10 July 2013
This was such a good book and I enjoyed it sooooooo much! A great series so far.

There were parts I laughed at, parts I was so distressed and concerned about and other bits I just enjoyed reading. Great plot and characters.

Richard must discover/solve the mystery of the temple of the winds to stop disaster visiting his empire and people. Time is short and people are dying. There is conflict and uncertainty.

Subplots include his grandfather Zed, who has many comical moments and Nathan, a profit on the loose.

So good and lived up to my expectations. Thank you Terry Goodkind.

This review is from: Great North Road (Paperback)
A great murder/mystery story. Very entertaining and enjoyable. A great story line with very interesting characters.

Although a sci-fi book with future setting it is very realistic and believable. Not that that is important for a good sci-fi book!! But in this situation was great.

A good book to invest some time in and well worth reading. x
