A friend played this CD at a dinner party and I was instantly hooked on the Saw Doctors.
I had never heard of them before.
They sound a little like the Oyster Band - another hugely talented band.

Maxed Out: Hard Times, Easy Credit
Maxed Out: Hard Times, Easy Credit

5.0 out of 5 stars is another dreadful crash around the corner?, 4 Feb. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I first read this book in December 2007 just before the almighty "credit crunch" crash.
I was amazed by the book then, and I knew that whatever happened in the USA would sooner or later happen in the UK.
And sure enough, September 2008 saw the fall of the banks, and all the chaos that created.
I bought the book again because another bubble is just about to burst, all the signs are pointing firmly in that direction.
It might not be caused this time by sub-prime lending, but the current world events are leading up to another dreadful crash.
I can only hope I am wrong.

A Life Less Sugary: How eating less sugar changed my life

1.0 out of 5 stars full of spelling mistakes and bad grammar, 4 Feb. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
What a shame this was full of spelling mistakes and bad grammar.
The story was alright and at first I was interested, then I became so irritated by the continuous mistakes I deleted it from my kindle.
Why don't publishers check their books more carefully these days?
It is totally unfair to the author when a book is published with this many faults.

Singing Bones (CD)
Singing Bones (CD)

Price: £8.95

5.0 out of 5 stars wonderful music, 29 Jan. 2016
This review is from: Singing Bones (CD) (Audio CD)
I discovered The Handsome Family's amazing music when I watched True Detective and played the theme tune over and over again.
What a fantastic voice - country and western, but so much more.
And his wife has a beautiful voice too, though she mainly sings as a backing singer.
All the songs on Singing Bones are very good.
I also like the way each album contains different songs.

The House on Cold Hill
The House on Cold Hill

5.0 out of 5 stars a wonderful author, 29 Jan. 2016

This review is from: The House on Cold Hill (Hardcover)
Peter James - what an extraordinary author!
His books are all amazingly good and well written, with excellent plots.
Each book is like a box of chocolates - to be enjoyed and savoured, and how sad it is when the end is in sight.
When I found out that his latest book, The House On Cold Hill, explored "the other side" I was intrigued.
And then I was delighted with yet another wonderfully clever story that I just could not put down.
I live in Croydon, and a day out in Sussex is my idea of fun.
I can follow his characters in my mind as they travel along the various roads that I know so well.
Although Cold Hill village is fictitious, I concluded that the house is actually in Hurstpierpoint?
Thank you Peter James for countless happy hours spent reading your wonderful books,
I can't wait for your next one.

This was a really exciting and well written thriller.
The story kept me hooked from start to end.
I was kept guessing as the plot unravelled and the characters all fell under suspicion.
I can't wait to read her next novel.

This is a very clever plot, beautifully written by Colette Mcbeth. It is narrated by Melody, who was attacked and left for dead, and Eve, who was attacked and died - both at the hands of the same killer. I loved it and hope to read more from the author soon.
