4.0 out of 5 stars A neat solution avoiding strip lighting., 29 Dec. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I bought two of these units for my cottage kitchen, one for illuminating the cooker area and one over the sink. They are very bright and I will probably install a dimmer switch to moderate this. The carrying bar is a little utilitarian compared with the very neat design of the bulb holders but the directing ability of each of the three lights is good. Removing the bulbs and replacing them is a fiddle but included is a rubber tool to help with this. Recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good quality and sturdy game., 29 Dec. 2015

This review is from: Battleship Board Game (Toy)
Probably the best non electronic version of the game. Components are good quality and the best part is being able to sit apart to play. My grandchildren have enjoyed it each day since Christmas Day (now 29th) and the consoles have stood up well to some less than careful handling. Recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent addition to my workshop., 29 Dec. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This vac was bought because my workshop was becoming unusable with all the dust and general woodworking waste. I put aside a couple of hours to clean up and this machine fully came up to expectations. The parts were easy to put together and seemed to be of a high quality necessary in a workshop environment. The lead is plenty long enough as is the tube from machine to tool end. The handle is ergonomically just right for moving around aided by the wheel arrangement. The tools are neatly stored in the caddy. The suck at the tool end is more than enough for everything I have so far thrown at it and the brush is sufficiently sturdy to cope with fairly rough handling. The capacity is such that emptying is required surprisingly infrequently. I initially kept looking in the drum in case it was full only to find there was more capacity than expected. I have found the best way to empty is by lifting handfuls of the contents carefully into a bag lined waste bin and then brushing the fine filter bag to remove most of the fine filtered dust. The machine is pleasantly quiet. I have used the automatic power socket with belt sanders and a table saw and found it very effective. I have no hesitation in recommending this machine for workshop use although it might be a little cumbersome in the house.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good little collection of photographs and text., 28 Jan. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I bought this little book having lived during the 1950/60s at the heart of the system, Horley, and have not been disappointed with its contents apart from one or two reproductions of the photographs. It evokes well the age of elegance which the period of its existence surely was. All of the illustrations are of scenes prior to the grouping except for a couple showing relics still in use around 1970. I would have liked a few more of the period up to the end of steam but this might have inclined it more towards the 'then and now' category. Apart from the short introduction all of the text is attached to photographs. This is fine except that it necessarily limits the information given. By and large it seems good value as a toe in the water to this railway's interesting early history.
I agree with the other review regarding the difficulty with degraded negs.

4.0 out of 5 stars All the information, perhaps too much., 28 Jan. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
All the usual information updated to November 2014 and with clear indication on how to keep it up to date via Today's Railways mag. I suppose that it is presented in as clear a format as is possible in these days of multiple owners of stock but compare this layout with the clarity of the pre privatisation era stock list books and it looks muddled.

4.0 out of 5 stars Restyled version of my existing model., 22 Nov. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I have had the previous version of this machine for some years now and it has been excellent. I decided to purchase a second one for my new second home and am pleased with the revised design. However, it loses one star because there is no longer a measuring cup included. It may seem insignificant but I have found this measure very useful for the water, flour and additives such as fruit and it has always been kept to hand in the machine bucket.
Don't give up if you have the odd failure as I did at the outset. Once you get the ingredients right it makes superb loaves.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent tool, 22 Nov. 2013

This may have no moving parts but it works extremely well. The weight of it is just what is needed for breaking out concrete, the use for which it was purchased, as well as making holes in firm ground.
Superb value also.

2.0 out of 5 stars Very poor, 22 Nov. 2013

My comments made about the smaller version of this box apply here except that the double lid closing catches makes opening and closing twice as fiddly.

2.0 out of 5 stars Poor quality, 22 Nov. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is a Draper modification of the superb Curver box and has been cheapened as only Draper know how. The only improvement is the inner tray which is now deeper and less likely to spill small tools from section to section. The handle no longer has the comfortable grip of the Curver box and the closing catch is hopeless. The original was loose in its pivots because it had a metal pin hinge and very positive in locking in place. The new one is stiff and made entirely of plastic. It makes opening and closing tricky where the original was just a flick of the hand. The rear hinge similarly looks suspect.
If you can find an original Curver snap it up.
I use mine for small modelling tools keeping the larger version for heavier stuff.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good design and quality., 10 Oct. 2013
This review is from: T-Class Paste Table (DIY & Tools)
I bought this table some years ago whilst still wallpapering for a living. Apart from a corner piece being damaged on delivery (manufacturer being totally hopeless at rectifying and not interested in defect) this is an excellent piece of equipment. The ridge in the middle is a little annoying but has never been a problem. Leaning on the ends will upset things but again this has never caused concern. It would have been good to have had a measure along the edge as some tables have. The surface and edges are easy to keep clean and no part of the table has suffered any wear or tear and is now as good as new. Assembly is quick and easy once you get familiar with the clips and geometry.
